I'm genuinely curious what they have to show for the limited-access PU. Any thing even remotely resembling an MMO will be head and shoulders above what they have now. Like, how could they be working on this when they don't even know how logging out is gonna work?

with the stimpire i think it's really important to not go past the source material at all or even look into it very deeply otherwise it stops being an effective and funny criticism of the sort of weirdos who back star citizen and becomes something very creepy and goony that being said i still like the unrestrained enthusiasm with which RSI forums poster Zealot launches himself into his torture porn. it doesn't make sense, it's just whatever's getting his rocks off at that second. please don't expand the stimpire

Funny to think about stuff like the Starfarer and just what exactly is being discussed. They're talking about a model being completed to put into the model-viewer. There's this much hype and delays for a loving model, not even a fully-flyable asset in a game environment.

Serious post. I've been meaning to try out LoD sometime. I played (or at least, attempted to play) a bit of Battlecruiser Millenium and Universal Combat many moons ago so I'm curious to see how your design philosophy has changed.

Goons most celebrated and successful tactic in that game is to literally bore the enemy until the prospect of fighting goons makes them want to quit the game. Only goons are boring themselves too hence stimpire. Eve is the worst type of boring and the dullness triples every second

You also don't need to find the immersion chute to crawl through to get into the things which is nice. Space is really dense - there are heaps of objects out there and everything is obviously scaled down (lyrius in particular looks tiny) but that's actually good because it means getting somewhere isn't a miserable five hour immersion-slog strapped into a cockpit. You also might see someone out there more than once in a while, if anyone was there. welp those are my initial thoughts. I'll keep at it until i can manage to fly towards a planet without exploding.
