Players get fined for writing bad poo poo on their eyeblack and not saying a word to other players. Also in real sports if you trash talk too much one of two things happen. The refs/umps will get involved or the other team is going to physically assault you during play. Get ready to get checked/beaned/head hit/have your knee taken out/fouled.

It's true that there's an upper limit, but it scales way past 70k if you frame it properly.

Ask a guy making $30k a year whether he wants a $250 bonus or two extra vacation days, and ask a guy earning $300k whether he wants a $2,500 bonus or two extra vacation days. First guy probably takes the cash, and the second guy takes the time off.
