I mean more in terms of general popularity, I think it was the least successful generation in terms of sale numbers. Or maybe that was VI, I dunno. Platinum and HG/SS were great games, which is unfortunate that they were preceded by the bad Diamond and Pearl

And yeah, the first two gens are pretty rough mechanics wise, but it feels almost unfair to compare them
