So is there a % of the white vote that whichever Dem can secure and basically create a no-way scenario for Trump? Considering their turnout so far has been 85%+ white they're going to need like 65%+ of them AND an increased turnout given how minorities are breaking against Trump

You can see it in how low is super tuesday spending is. I sure love our corporate overlords in DC. Yep, voting third party in the general (local politics are way less corrupt and they need my votes) Hopefully the states get enough movement for an election reform amendment since it's an issue both sides care about.

Considering their turnout so far has been 85%+ white they're going to need like 65%+ of them AND an increased turnout given how minorities are breaking against Trump yes, and it's something hilariously low like 38% i'd also like people who are stamping their feet in frustration about how the DNC is throwing this election away to take a deep breath, please, and remember that YCS is a highly unrepresentative echo chamber. i am voting for bernie and if hillary wins the nom i'm going to focus on downticket races and vote stein on the top of the ticket. however, this forum hates hillary way, way, way more than the average voter. she is simply not as widely hated as YCS seems to believe. part of it is that both clintons are notoriously teflon, and more than 20 years of constant attacks from the right on everything from murdering vince foster to cheating with cattle futures have amounted to nothing. at this point, you can tell people she's an untrustworthy double-dealer and they'll shrug and say "yup, she's really clever all right" and then pull the lever for her. this will be a real general election, not a 2008-style cakewalk, but the demographics pretty seriously favor team blue. to win trump needs to run the table on romney states and pick up a few extra, including some that very unfavorable for him. Black voters didn't dislike Clinton in 2008, they just liked the other guy more. The racial shenanigans that went on during that election had little to no effect in 2016, or voters ended up interpreting it as an extension of her campaign and surrogates, not of Hillary herself.

Considering their turnout so far has been 85%+ white they're going to need like 65%+ of them AND an increased turnout given how minorities are breaking against Trump you've probably seen this before but you can get a basic idea by playing with the sliders on this, which starts at the racial vote share/turnout #s from 2012 http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2015/08/26/demographics_and_the_2016_election_scenarios.html leaving turnout and other racial stuff the same and only clicking ^ on the republican non-hisp. white box you only have to go to 64% white to get a republican win - the reason that doesn't get talked up as much as minorities moving around is that in recent years there seems to have been a 30something% democratic firewall in the white demographic. considering that trump will probably increase anti-him minority turnout, despite the spin some people itf put on that, your 65%+ target is probably fair

Pretty much yea, a lot were wondering if that would actually manifest this go around and it has and then some. There was never an issue of black voters going 'gently caress Clinton' it was just 'yea I like Clinton but I want Obama more' and now with no Obama...we get this.

The live results thread on /r/sandersforpresident is having an ongoing discussion about Hillary winning the over 65 black vote by 96%. The most popular theories are that old black people are socially and economically conservative, have a "plantation mentality" that caused them to never even consider Bernie, and a link to the Wikipedia page for "Antisemitism in the United States: Jump to African-Americans."

On one hand props for using his funds well but on the other, the optics of a dude outright writing off huge portions of the DNC (and basically entirely black ones...) is reeeeeally bad and can super easily be spun into 'so does he just not give a poo poo about you if you won't vote for him?'
