Trykt posted:Definitely stop pressing b+MP, I'm really not sure how or why you have that as a habit but it's the biggest immediate problem you need to solve. That move is pretty much just to let her get a beefier hit confirm off of certain hits, like j.lk (her only cross-up capable air normal) Thanks for the advice! I often hit b+mp accidentally honestly. Sometimes I'll gently caress up combos because I was holding back. I'm guessing I shouldn't use b+mp as an anti air? It seems to trade a lot. RH can also be used as an AA crush counter but I feel like it's too risky. I'm gonna think about what you said for a bit but right now I'm about to pass out.

She has great DPs, learn to use those as anti-airs before you start trying to master her normals that can anti-air since those are for edge case scenarios where you don't want to or can't DP for some reason.

Not sure why you are double tapping the mk, its gonna take whatever the first input is its not quite like doing a combo where you can be too early on the button press. As for neutral legs, only real motion that works is either 8741236 or if you got pure speed 8236, although neutral legs isn't necessarily ideal because you want the forward motion to make sure you can get the bnb. That combo at 1:06 is something you would do if you are too far away as it does less damage than the normal BnB.

Double-tapping seems to help me get the minimum height. Could just be placebo, but I wonder if you double tap and the first comes before the minimum height and the second is at it, do you get a normal or the special? And how does the buffer work here, does it go from 3 frames to 5 like in a combo? I'll experiment more with it. For any other special, regardless of whether you are in a combo or not, you will get the special rather than the normal. Seems like it would apply here too? E:basically, does it kara the normal into legs as you cross minimum height, like it would on the ground? As an aside, as I understand it the Japanese players, Justin Wong, combofiend etc double tap basically everything including normals since it will help you get a reversal timing or the first frame after a transition like a dash It also seems to help getting the minimum amount of charge for kikoken. Maybe I'm just tripping, but if you listen to Justin Wong's stick while he's playing it sounds like a popcorn machine fozzy fosbourne fucked around with this message at 16:14 on Mar 8, 2016 |

"The Beast" is really a terrible nickname for him. "The Machine" would be a hell of a lot better because a good amount of his success stems from his uncanny ability to basically shut off his emotions and stay cool and relaxed. That, and he's really good at analyzing his opponents and thinking up counter strategies really fast. On the flip side, you have "Murderface" Tokido which actually makes sense because well... he has a murder face.

the effectiveness of certain character's anti air options is the first thing that i actively dislike in this game. most of the best characters in the game have anti air normals that can be used INSANELY late and still win clean, even after you've crossed them up. then you have a few characters who never have to guess on a crossup ever, because they can just mash standing jab and it will, at worst, trade. i am finding this aspect of the game not fun.

I tried asking in the fighting thread and didn't get a response, so I'll try one more time in here instead. So after a long time I'm looking to get a stick, I was looking at the TE2 and that seems to be sold out everywhere. Is the TES+ just as good, or is there a reason to hold out and hunt down a TE2? Or are there even better sticks that I'm not aware of?

# ? Mar 8, 2016 23:41 |

Looks like the only difference (that I can see) is the TE2 opens up and has a little storage space. They use the same parts and have the same layout. Another option is the Hori RAP4, which is cheaper. The Hori uses proprietary buttons and stick but (now) they are pretty good.

Siva68 posted:I tried asking in the fighting thread and didn't get a response, so I'll try one more time in here instead. I have a TES+ and really like it. It's the same quality level as the new TE2+, it's just not as easy to mod due to the top not having a hinge to make opening it easier. Same Sanwa parts. People on SRK have actually said that the s+ is slightly more sturdy due to the lack of a hinged top, so I'd go for the TES+. Btw when you said TE2, I assume you mean TE2+, not TE2, as that's a different, older model. Edit: For clarity: This is the old TE2. It's PS4 compatible, but lacks the touchpad and L3 R3 buttons that the next two have. It has a hinged top which apparently sometimes squeaks and groans with the weight of mighty goon hands. This is the TE2+. It's the most expensive of the three, and has a hinged top, complete with squeaking and groaning. It also has the touchpad and L3 R3 buttons. This is the TES+. It's the same as the TE2+, but with a different form factor. It's a bit less wide (very slightly), and is based on the original TE model that was sold with SFIV. It lacks a hinged top, and apparently "feels more solid" than the others (no squeaking and groaning). It also has the touchpad and L3 R3 buttons.
