So workers gain stats and skills as they level up and in parks and rec we have been trying to gather as much data as we can on these guys. The poo poo stick deal is their base stats are comparable to a leveled blue guy. I am almost certain if I keep promoting that blue dude he will end up with better stats than novara. Waiting for novara to hit level 2 now to see if that is true or not.

If anyone has a guest pass they feel like sending my way, my PM box is ready and willing. I like the idea of the game, but MMOs never really seem to hold my interest for very long so I wanna try before I buy. Thanks!

Eltoasto posted:Yo Novara, yo mama's a troll He's an NPC with a contract in his Amity shop. If you see random dudes around farms with Amity shops they're often named workers. From what I hear they're an easy way to get decent workers to start, but unlike regular workers you can't promote them. Blue workers can theoretically be promoted to orange but the named ones are supposedly stuck where they are

Don't suppose someone has written an effortpost or knows of decent guides for the node system and the worker stuff? (and suggestions on when to get involved in those)

This guy may own. The luck skill we have on another worker but at C rank. On that skill it says each level they gain 0.4 luck. So this guy may gain 1 luck per level. Drinkfist has been gathering every giant he can get. I'll get some stat info from him later.

Are the level based skills constant? I know the inherent ones are, but I can't check what lvl 1 skill I have on novara

I've been told yes, but I won't know for sure until these guys level up a bit.

mehall posted:Don't suppose someone has written an effortpost or knows of decent guides for the node system and the worker stuff? (and suggestions on when to get involved in those) So you want to own land eh? Nodes Well the first part of owning land is well, the land. To get some land you're going to need to find an area that suits your fancy. Now, this can't be any old piece of land. Thanks to the socialist bastards in Korea, we have to make sure all our land is connected to a Capital city. A node is connected when the map shows a line connecting the two nodes, funny how that works. All nodes have to have a path back to the capital via nodes you own, and you can't have an island. In order to actually get the node you need to physically travel there and talk to what's called a Node Manager. They usually are the assholes who actually own the farm or some cowards hiding under a rock from some loving bees or equally pussy rear end poo poo. These guys will have a dialogue option called Node Management. Each node has a different contribution point cost associated with it. This point cost is fully refundable if you change your mind later, and can even be done remotely. Just remember, you can't make an island. So if you want to refund a node in the middle of the chain you are going to have to destroy the rest of the chain first. Resource Nodes So you invested in the land, good for you, you still can't do poo poo with it. In order to actually get the delicious potatoes kalstrams dreams about you need to then invest in the resource node. A resource node is available after you have invested in the actual node and can be done through the same NPC node manager that you invested in the land itself in. These also have their own contribution costs and are refundable. Anything that ever costs contribution is refundable. So to make sure it's clear, its first invest in the land such as "Jackhole Farm" then invest in "poo poo Turd Field" at "Jackhole Farm". This will allow you to get poo poo Turds. Each resource node also has what I'll say is a 'rare' harvest, in that it's secondary to what you are getting there and is influenced by luck. Such as eggs at the chicken factory Well just because you now have the resource doesn't mean you are actually getting anything. What are you going to do, harvest it yourself like a poor? You're going to do what your ancestors before did and get some 'workers'. These workers come in three varieties and five rarities. First, you need lodgings to house them. You buy these through the map just like with storage, residences, workshops, etc. Goblins - these fuckers are fast and work fast, but need fed often cause their stamina is so low. Very good, highly recommend. Humans - These fuckers are in the middle and have the highest luck. Luck is important since it increases the chance of getting rare harvests. Very good, highly recommend. Giants - Slow and dumb. These fucks have tons of stamina and can work all day while you are sleeping and at work. Very good, highly recommend. The rarities influence how good the workers are, it goes White > Green > Blue > Yellow > Orange and are called Naive > [nothing] > Skilled > Professional > Artisan Naive can't be promoted, don't waste your lodgings on this poo poo you gently caress Your workers will gain levels by doing your bidding and gain more stats and perks. The perks are listed on their sheets, you can read that yourself. At level 10 your worker is eligible for a promotion, where he will go back to level 1 and go up in color. You won't ever see that happen however since he will always fail his test, I guarantee it. This also takes 24 real life hours where your worker won't do anything except prepare to fail his test Workers also have stats: Work Speed - How fast he does the thing you tell him to do Moving Speed - How long it takes them to go to where he needs to do the thing will take Luck - Chance at getting rare items during work Stamina - How many iterations he can do before stopping. Using Workers To use a worker you do so through an interface. Let's start with harvesting. You go to your map and click Jackhole Farm. After that you will see the symbol for the poo poo Turds, click that. This should open a menu of assigning a worker to collect some poo poo. Remember to change the amount of iterations to max, as it defaults to one and then you can't leave him afk and trust him to do the rest. The worker will leave his lodging, travel to the field, gather the poo poo, and deposit it in your storage. Each iteration's time is shown on the menu. To create items with your workers you click the cities map of where you bought the workshop. You then open whatever it's called, I think craft management or something. You will need the items needed to craft it in your storage. If you didn't gently caress that up you can then assign a worker to make poo poo just like in the previous dialogue. You also have to stay logged in or else your workers will only finish their current task and then stop. You can minimize the game to tray to take up minimal resources. That's the basics and also all I'm going to type. If you have other questions click the link in the bottom of the OP. Drythe fucked around with this message at 20:19 on Mar 10, 2016 |

Thanks Drythe, that clears up a lot! Can you start your node chain from any major town/city, or will I first need to connect the beginners town to the town/city hub, before I can spread out from there?

Any time there is a cash shop there is always someone complaining that X is overpriced and if they just dropped their prices to fifty cents they'd totally sell more of them. Forgetting all the time "the market will pay what the market will bear" whether anyone likes it or not. It's one of those MMO constants, just like "sign this petition for devs to change [horribly complicated backend] just to meet my esoteric whim".

I have nodes between Calpheon all the way to Velia. Once I get my trading high enough I'm probably going to remove a lot of the Velia nodes, its just there is a lot more available to trade there for a low skill trader
