Been enjoying the game but had an honest realization after finally diving into all the node stuff:

You link nodes to make trade routes, which lets you hire workers, which lets you make beer, which lets you keep workers making more beer... wait, what's the point of this? I assume at some point it'll generate income somehow, I'm just finding that reason kind of opaque from my current viewpoint. Anyone got insights?

Horse gear to make your horse faster and stronger, boats and accessories, trading wagons and accessories, all manners of tools and gadgets to use or sell.

This map shows some nodes that I don't see on my map. Is this a later expansion thing or some hidden quest knowledge poo poo.

For instance, keplan has keplan hill (flan cake hill on the map) with a tin node. I don't have that tin node available to me at this moment.
Just walk to Keplan Hill and discover it via exploration.

I have keplan hill already just not the tin node.

I invested contribution points into it. It still doesn't show up.

Pretty much.
I think you also need to have the locations you trade to and from connected via the various nodes or you will get a penalty, but I'm not sure it applies to cities that you have auto-unlocked (like Velia or Heidel).

Forgive my severe lack of MMO vocabulary, but what is "alt spamming" when it comes to workers in this game?

Your workers are shared to the account, whereas energy is individual to characters. Alt spamming in this context means logging into each of your characters and spending some or all of their energy rerolling the workers (worker manager lets you check out another one for 5 energy) until you get a good one.

Your family shares a maximum energy cap, but each character has their own energy pool.

So you make alts to increase the amount of energy available to you. They regen slower than your active character, but it's still more energy to use than if you only had one character worth of energy.

They regen only when your main is capped I believe

Okay, so what sort of characteristics are generally accepted as a "good one". I have tried rerolling my workers some, but I don't really know what I should be prioritizing when it comes to my selection.

I dont know why its so hard to just fix the dye system, BDO is an amazing game and its a shame to see it being held back by such a stupid system. Theres no defence for this ridiculous cashgrab dye system, i want to see this game excel in every way so we can have the best mmo weve had in a long while. If they simply make dyes reusable then thats all id need to be satisfied. The idea that a dye dissapears after its been used and youll need to play RNG all over again to get a decent dye. What if I wanted an all black outfit? Would i need to spend countless dollars on dye packs until i have a collection of black-ish dyes so i could somewhat get the look i want? This system is 100% against the consumer. Its so ridiculous that I actually visited one of those gold/pear selling chinese sites just to take a look...everything is half the price of the actual item in the cash shop, ofcourse i would never consider handing over my credot card to those spamming fuckers but still, people who support goldsellers are dicks howeverin this case i wouldnt even blame them. 30$ for a costume? Its clear theyre trying to push the cash shop on us with the almost identical pieces of armor you get. If you wanna look unique, either drop 30 bucks for a costume or play the dye casino and gamble for a good set of dyes. For those arguing that bdo needs this to make money and this is how they need to do it, gently caress off please. Is the initial 30 dollars we pay not enough? Are the 30$ costumes not enough? Are the "partial" skill resets we are forced to buy if we want to change our build not enough? Bdo is a great game and it doesnt need this cashgrab to make a good income.

As for all those people saying its only cosmetic and it doesnt effect the core mechanics of the game. Ok thats true but what the gently caress. EVERYBODY LOOKS THE SAME. All the valkyries look the same woth the blue dress, all the wizards with the tattered robes, all the sorceresses with the same trenchcoat. The differences between the different gear sets is MINISCULE. Forgive me for wanted to be a little bit unique. Like if theyre gonna male the gear looks for every class almost the same the LEAST they can do is give us the freedom to color it differently. Some of you may not give a poo poo about that kind of stuff , but im sure most people who play an mmo understand the importance of looking unique and actually roleplaying your character. If you dont care then good for you, go enjoy bdo but not everybody shares your opinion.

The rants people have been posting on the official forums and reddit mostly sound childish and spergy to me, but I gotta say that I would really appreciate a GW2 style dye unlocking system plus some outfits that can be acquired/crafted in game. It is a shame that a game which looks so pretty and comes with such an amazing character creator doesn't support this sort of thing. I am okay with all of the current costumes remaining on the cash shop and the inclusion of unique/rare dyes on there as well so they can make money. I just want an in game progression system to get this stuff made available too.

Yeah, a GW2 dye-unlocking system would be amazing. They could still sell dye boxes on the store but they could also drop really rarely through mobs and you could sell them on the AH. And some would be rarer than others. And it would unlock that color permanently. (And if they still want to do one-use, then they could at least make them droppable in-game. :()

This is pretty much the true part. Oranges are almost always better stat wise than everything else.

Giants have huge carying capacity and good stamina. They are great farmers for firing and forgetting. You want good work speed on these guys and good stamina.

Goblins have high workspeed and poo poo stamina. They are the guys you use to produce something now and fast. They require a lot of micromanagement due to low stamina.

Humans are medium of the road lucky guys. You want some rare procs on workshops or rare harvested goods then you use humans.

I've seen up to 27 luck, and I want to say that this is a percentage but it may not be. I've seen 80 work speed and that is absolutely amazing for producing something real fast.

For their actual skills, it is all random so good luck hoping to get something you could use. Most of these you can stare at and figure out real fast if it is worth it. If you sperg out, you will reroll these guys by firing them and picking up new ones trying to get the perfect worker. Don't. Or do. What ever.

the only skill that is a bit confusing is the exclusive node skill which is about investing into a bank.
