The early Missouri returns look great for Hillary, but the Upshot model has it very close. I don't understand at all. Surely Bernie should be winning a lot more of these rural precincts?

Bernie is being powered by a huge margin in Springfield, MO. Over 2k vote margin there so far. 27/76 precincts reporting. Bernie should also win Columbia County, home of the University of Missouri, by a fairly large margin and it has almost all of its precincts left to report.

St. Louis and its sister county have not really begun to report yet. Still picking up Bernie NOs.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, NYTimes.com The Upshot has ongoing predictions for the races based on which precincts are yet to come in: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/03/15/upshot/live-model-democratic-primary-results.html?_r=0#g-state-anchor-MO Hillary just barely above 50/50 in MO. Not 38/62 as prices currently reflect, plus I'd say that hints that even if she doesn't win there will be flipping opportunities.

BigBobio posted:If Bernie loses every state tonight, does he drop out? This is going to be like 2008, where everyone knows who is going to win based on the delegates but it'll be close enough for the other guy to keep going to the end. Which is fine with me because it both provides money making opportunities and gets more of Bernie's message absorbed into the DNC platform.
