Also, yes, the Caitian Star Hero or whatever is a furry RP fleet that contained the likes of Ashkrik and Adventurecat, so I'm guessing it's mostly a Christian furry fleet or whatever. I spoke to one of their members the other day who admitted that AdventureCat was a little "too extreme" for the rest of them and often made people in the fleet very uncomfortable.

Remember that they stagger doff assignment completions because 20 assignments finishing simultaneously when you logged in caused lag issues.

That would definitely take the game down. That's why there are weekly maintenance periods, it's the one time a week to get all that business done.

I would honestly not be surprised if their database schema was literally non-existent. Having to pull the entire character record for even the tiniest changes would certainly explain the 1-2 second lag when doing literally anything that'd modify any part of the character records that all three of Cryptic's current games have even when you're otherwise not lagging at all.

I'm not sure if most of the PWE/cryptic people could blitz through a queue even with a great ship and epic equipment. Ship and equip is only a part of a build. It needs to be combined with the right traits, doffs, boffs, and boff skills.

I could assemble a couple teams out of my friends list that could run Hive ground and space back to back on Elite, and probably get most if not all of the optionals, too.

I am quite confident that no team of 5 Cryptic employees, on non-dev accounts without cheating, could beat those queues.

Edit: and I'm not saying every dev needs to be good at their own game, but bet enough Blizzard devs are good enough at WoW to run a raid. I bet a team of TOR devs could do a hard mode Flashpoint. John Romero regularly schooled competitive deathmatch players.

If devs can't playtest their most difficult content without cheating at it, then it ain't getting playtested. And that's STO.

I would question that. Not entirely, but parts. How to put it....there's a strong difference between what you'd like and what you need. There's also the third issue of 'what can I get at in a reasonable time/cost'.

Traits? Yes, some. I don't mean lockbox, I mean your bog-standards. You can do well enough, there's enough useful traits.

Bridge Officers? You can get by with whoever, really. Sure, you'd like to have those super Romulan whatevers, but you can manage. Klingons get the better end via Nausicans in the 'what i can get at'-don't they give +damage in space?.

Duty officers help, but you need a good base.

Without a decent setup in terms of what skills are on your crew for space and ground, the rest falls completely flat. Even the 'basic' Power to Weapons/Power to Shields loop puts you above most of the crowd.

And despite Mark 13 and 14 and Gold, you can still manage with Mark 12. Indeed, you'll have to given the upgrade costs.
