Boiling Point on OVK feels a little like DW. Did it once earlier for the clear, and was attempting the zero down achievement. Got wrecked outside pretty easily. Surprising amount of damage coming out of the standard guys at times. Managed to get the Ground is too cold achievement, despite myself and my buddy both getting downed at least once each.

Did a bunch of runs of Murky Station last night to get a feel for it. Aside from the guards having the annoying tendency to do instant 180 turns mid-patrol route, I've found it a really great stealth heist. The variations are great, since even after 5 runs it was still putting things in somewhat unexpected locations. The environmental sound cues do a good job of not making things annoying to find, however. Really like the drones, since they keep where the 'safe' routes are changing. Not as big a fan of Boiling Point. The difficulty is definitely really wonky and unpredictable. Got good potential, though.

Shaped charges and trip-mines as separate entities, 6 armor piercing sentries. NO BRAKES ON THE LMG TRAIN!

They posted the reworked Technician tree Highlights: - an entire tree for turrets - melee to restart drills - automatic weapons tree - You now start with 2 sentry gun. Deploying a sentry gun costs 20% of your total ammo per weapon. You can also pick them up regaining the ammunition left. - You start with 3 shaped charge and 3 trip mines. Shaped charge can only use to blow up door safe and other while tripes mines can only be used as trip mines. Dr Cheeto fucked around with this message at 17:28 on Apr 1, 2016 |

Small textual errors aside, that tree looks pretty good! Fire on trip mines is an interesting choice. So is separating shaped charges and trip mines- it frees up map and trip mine options in good ways for the designers.

Seriously, 50% chance of automatic weapons' bullets knocking down targets, completely ignoring tan body armor, 50% of the headshot multiplier being applied to bodyshots, pretty big accuracy and stability boosts. It's time to spray and pray.

50% chance to punch a drill back to life yes
|
# ? Apr 1, 2016 17:38 |
Drillpunching seems to have just one chance of activating per breakdown though which is kind of a bummer but still probably the most balanced implementation.

goddammit I've used my same build using ARs and LMGs forever now and then they're gonna implement stuff like this that makes me have to debate going down tech somewhat

Numbers in blue are subject to change, but yeah, even twice might be too good, given that it's a separate chance than the 30% innate auto-restart. Neat that Jack of All Trades allows you to bring -any- deployable on top of the sentries instead of just trip mines. And by any I mean ammo, because get your own ammo you drat robot sympathizer bastards. But yeah, I guess six sentry guns is a pretty good answer to "how do you justify an entire tree to sentry guns?????" also lmao @ silent drilling being a footnote in a tier 1 skill now

So if you ace jack of all trades, can you mix and match deployables freely? Like invest enough in Mastermind and Enforcer and you can bring both meds and ammo?

I doubt it, and even if you can it's not going to be worth spending all those points in that tree just so you can have 1 or 2 medkit charges alongside your ammo bag or vice versa.

In case you have forgotten, here's how progression works: Grand total of 104 points to work with. Sentries look good but they could eat over 40% of your points if you let them. I'm glad they're taking things in the direction they are. Having to buy a skill just to refill sentries was asinine, and not being able to move them severely limited their utility. Where the movement skills from Ghost end up is going to pretty much dictate build flexibility. Dr Cheeto fucked around with this message at 18:13 on Apr 1, 2016 |
