Disney Crossy Road is out if the thought of seeing Pumbaa from The Lion King dodging It seems ok so far, though the app feels a bit unpolished with some missing options and some occasional lag on my phone. In addition, while the idea of collecting recognisable Disney characters in the game sounds really appealing to me, alas it looks like a few don't fare quite so well rendered in the signature Crossy boxy style. Still, if you like Disney and/or Crossy Road, its pretty neat. mrkillboy fucked around with this message at 10:04 on Apr 7, 2016 |

Rapner posted:Why are the screenshots just showing me a bunch of anime characters and very little in the way of screenshots? Is this just for hardcore weeaboos? The 'gameplay' consists of dragging lines to match symbols on a 3x3 grid to activate the various characters, which has probably been done before hundreds of times. You get it if you like collecting Tales Of characters or if you just want to get in ground floor on the umpteenth game of its kind. For whatever it's worth they shove a lot of free poo poo at you at the start so I at least don't feel gimped right out of the gate. The first pull for each new event pool is a guaranteed 4* which is nice for people who don't want to spend money, since you can pretty much get a unit of currency (hero stone) for each level you complete the first time. There's also a series of 'beginner' quests and missions that give you free poo poo and don't expire Oh, I guess the other thing worth mentioning is your characters get an Arte that activates more often the more you use them, as well as passives that unlock after a certain number of uses. So you can still make progress when you've leveled up a guy to max and can't find any special items for them CrashCat fucked around with this message at 04:23 on Apr 7, 2016 |

Oh by the way if you do decide to play, click Friend and Search Friends to get your ID, then put it in this dodgy looking form and they might send you a freebie character sometime https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ywK91rKv9IPrZVYz0tS7SfBDs5cRhDunuppwoNvyHYg/viewform?c=0&w=1&usp=send_form

Played the official walking dead game. You take dudes on missions to kill walkers/collect loot while upgrading your stuff. Everything takes time and resources. You upgrade your buildings, people, individual weapons and individual pieces of armor. These timers and resource costs scale exponentially. When one of your guys gets hurt in a mission, he goes into a medical tent one at a time(open an additional slot at medical tent level three!), and you can't use him again until he heals up. It's not a good game.

I'm not sure what it'd be called, but I'm after a game where there's a grid of blank tiles and you flip over two at a time to match the symbols on the other side. It's a ridiculously simple thing but I had it on Windows 3.1 and I miss it!

Spry Fox, makers of Triple Town and Alphabear have a new game out called Bushido Bear. You're a ninja bear and you swipe around the screen killing bad guys in endless waves. Seems good so far with no apparent energy systems or anything like that. I've also been playing Hero Hack which is a fun, simple rogue-like dungeon crawler thing.

That space wolves game has been really buggy for me. It has gotten stuck at loading screens a couple of times, and just now it stopped right after I moved one of my guys, and wouldn't let me restart the mission, I had to stop the game manually. Apparently this means I can't use those guys for 20 minutes now.

There'll probably be a thread once that english option is finally out. Kinda hit the jackpot during those free 70 rolls, came out way better than expected woop! Anyways street fighter collab is returning to granblue again with the 1st part and a new 2nd part. Collab characters should be ryu , chun-li, rashid and karin. You should beable to get a character from each part via rep system, and then the other one requires grinding out drops that'll be tough if you don't build up your party before then. Collabs maybe few and between, so could be months/years before a SF collab returns. And the ryu/chun-li skin for your avatar .

A simple question on Granblue before I expend effort on a Mobage game: Is this the kind of mobile game where other players are opponents (aka bad memories of Fantasica, competing against whales in pay-to-win environments to get unit prizes that'd let me stand a chance in the next competition) or where whales can only help you and don't compete against you for resources (aka PAD / Shironeko)?
|
# ? Apr 11, 2016 16:19 |
|
The only competition I can think of is for getting a red chest for MVPing multiplayer (co-op) content, but if you're hosting, you're getting a red chest anyway for that, plus you can choose when/if to invite people, so really it shouldn't be that much of a deal. Whales/Higher level players allow you to do co-op content high above what you'd normally be able to do so they're pretty cool in my opinion. EDIT: I don't know how the guild war stuff works, so maybe that's competative?
|
# ? Apr 11, 2016 16:27 |

At its worst Granblue is competitive PvE, you murder raid bosses and if you're MVP you get a red chest that has better odds for stuff. Whoever hosts the raid also gets a red chest. Then theres the guild wars event where its a grindfest farming raids for points, its more of a resource battle if you've built up a good weapon pool for the right element. And the resource potions can be stockpiled via events, casino, and quest drops. The main prize is winning enough medals to cash-in for the package that has an upgrade stone for SSR summons. Which isn't really relevant until you pull a decent one outta the gacha. Potsticker posted:EDIT: I don't know how the guild war stuff works, so maybe that's competative? The initial hurdle for new guilds is breaking through the preliminaries which has about 2400 spots for guilds of 30 members. Past that guilds are matched together to see who can farm more points in a day, 50/15 medals for win/lose. Theres 5 days of this and you get matched with another guild each day. So its this resource battle and deciding if this'll be the day to devote more of your resources. Drakes fucked around with this message at 16:37 on Apr 11, 2016 |
