Outside of that they're supposedly fairly solid considering it's an Italian car from the 70s... One of the great Bertone wedge designs and the 'older brother' of the Stratos.

Yeah it looks really neat, the context is that my friend is now interested in a little old sports car (old because they're cheap and don't need emissions testing) so a relatively unknown Italian car might not be right... best choice would probably be an MG Midget since I have about 1,000lbs of spare parts already.

For 3900 that thing better be perfect inside and out, and it looks pretty rough. They are fun cars and have a lot of advanced stuff for the day like 4-wheel disc brakes. If you have to have one you are much better off watching xweb for a deal, the cars there tend to be well taken care of and 4k can get you a really nice example http://xwebforums.org/index.php

keykey posted:Absolutely not. I remember selling those pieces of poo poo, those cars are not a fine wine. The only type of collectors for those should be front lawns in the South. People said the same thing about worn out shitbox 40s cars that became hotrods in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, too. Also that ls400 that "just needs a starter" is the worst kind of cruelty. Or the best april fools prank, I'm not sure. That damned starter and internal/concentric slave cylinders are my favorite example of cheap parts that 99% of the population would be angry about the labor bill for.

I doubt you're talking about me but I used to own one with a Yamaha V-4 bike engine transplant. Still had the transaxle for reverse so five speeds backwards as well. If I was looking to buy one I'd get the best example I could possibly find because even a perfect example is only worth a few thousand and most of them have been crushed so spares are getting rare.

With the rad kei cars starting to become legal to import in the US I'd have a hard time justifying 7k for that tiny Honda. Get a Beat that we were talking about earlier or pay a premium and have one that's already here and legally important delivered to you!
