Infinity Gaia posted:Edit: Plus at one point I managed to have 2 purple spirits, a blue cop and an invader in my game at once. Now THAT was a fun clusterfuck, because the only two people who weren't aggro to each other were me and the blue cop, and the only person not aggro to the enemies was the invader. Was a really hectic fight that ended up going all across the map, with a lot of traps and running away. Turtlicious posted:Where do I get cracked red eye orbs? You get a permanent one pretty quick. Once you get the pale tongue from undead settlement, you get a key to find it from the guy you got 5 cracked orbs from in firelink.

Man, using a mouse it took me way too long to figure out that there are TWO moves available when using weapon arts (well, with regular swords anyway). Turns out you can't actually perform a regular attack with it using the default keybinds, gotta bind left-hand strong attack to a keyboard button to do it since the mod for left-hand strong (needed to activate the art) is the same as the mod for right-hand strong, and thus just using mouse buttons means you're always firing off the weapon art strong attack.

As a huge Bloodborne fan, and someone who just started playing DS2: SoTFS about 3 weeks ago (30 hours in), I must say I already like this game A LOT more than DS2 and I just beat the second boss. The visuals are fantastic, the environment feels really connected together (like Bloodborne), the enemies act a lot more Bloodborneish, and combat feels a bit more fast paced. edit: Oh yeah, I didn't even mention, the loving music in this game is epic too. Not sure if it's been posted yet, it looks like there's a bug whereby if you go back to your world after being summoned (possibly only when the host dies/servers disconnect you), you can't see (and thus can't pick up) any item placed around the world. Warping to Firelink and back fixed it for me, and I imagine reloading probably does as well because it's Dark Souls. I spent a good while wondering why the gently caress all these obviously-placed corpses didn't have anything on them in Lothric.

Just got to play the game, it feels fantastic so far even though all I've done is lit one bonfire and ignored one Turn Back message to good effect. Looks fantastic, the graphics update is great. I'm going in quite blind and plan to stay that way, but figured Durante's article on the PC port may be useful to anyone looking to optimize their game, especially page 2: http://www.pcgamer.com/durantes-dark-souls-3-port-analysis It's running smoothly for me on a 3-year old 3770k and AMD 7970 with everything maxed out but Motion Blur, which I've set to Off. If I get hitches, DoF will be turned off, but so far it's very, very smooth.

So Abyss Watchers. That was quite the interesting fight once you start realizing what is happening. Still couldn't beat it on my own though so I opted for jolly co-operation.

Serious protip for people: if you don't want to be locked out of the mound makers covenant early on then don't kill the tree boss (should be second?) until you've gotten the cutscene on the opposite side of the zone after dropping off the roof and talking to Hodrick. Apparently there's a way around this by getting summoned but I've yet to make it work. Sheep fucked around with this message at 12:35 on Apr 12, 2016 |

Some duder decided it would be fun, after me escorting him through half the settlement, to summon some loony purple dude and get me to fight him. Purple bitches don't know 'bout my stance ability on the claymore. He blocks, I stance break it, stab him through the head for half his health The claymore doesn't have quite as good a basic moveset as it does in DS2 but the stance abilities I think make up for that. Also hit hits hard enough to clobber knights out of their attacks which is good. Actually just in general the fact that I can hit dudes with my big sword and they get knocked in the direction of the blow is wonderful because it feels like I'm wielding a big rubber chicken and going around smacking people with it.

It's kind of amazing that the PvP continues to be fun even with the near-constant lag I have. It's not usually TOO bad, but it's CONSTANT. I've actually gotten weirdly good at lag parrying though. Helps that apparently no one expects someone to try parrying in laggy PvP scenarios and they seem to keep falling for it. Also man using the Finger is a rush. Just invasion after invasion. I couldn't even sit down at the bonfire between fights! Oh, by the way, I got the key to go find the full red eye orb but I have absolutely no loving clue where this key goes. Any tips? I wanna be able to invade again even though I usually just run face-first into full enemy parties.

Dark Souls 1 was my first souls game. I spent nearly a weekend fighting through the Undeadburg and getting stonewalled by the black knight. I then breezed through DS2 and then Demons. I spent nearly two hours in Lothric and have been struggling to deal with the Knights that patrol around and I feel the same feelings I had in Undeadburg. Once the crashing stops (much better after setting lighting to low) this will probably be the only game I play for the rest of my life.
