Does anyone here daily drive their 2011-2014 GT's during the winter in the snow? I'm really curious how these cars perform with a good set of snow tires on.

Any car performs awesome with a good set of snow tires, your specific year of mustang is no exception. Light on the throttle, easy on the brakes, don't drive like you're in a russian dash cam video.

LoLoLoLOOLOLOlololololLOLOLOlolOlOlolo I can flat out say that I am not selling my car any time in the foreseeable future. People give me poo poo about not driving it.

I Admit I did donuts once and got pulled over by the cops back in 2001. the cop said "I understand you are 23 and you have an awesome car but dont do that again"
and he wrote me up a warning and let me go. Also I have that warning still in my car for historical archiving! I dont have a pic, perhaps I should take one :)

As for doing anything stupid since, not really. I have never done a burn out since I got in trouble with the LAW!!!!
These are brand new tires I got for christmas 2005 installed 5-8-2006.

These are the same tires about 8ish years later.... 4-11-2014. Notice the treadwear is perfect! sorry I dont have a better angle.

New Shoes day 4-29-14. The guy installing them said he has never seen tires with perfect tread on a driven car and completely dry rotted.

This is to document the time where I really damaged my car. I hit this pot hole in Port Chester NY and dented my wheel 5-29-2002.
This is the connector from i287 to I95. this cost me $600 to by a new wheel from Ford. I was so stupid. I could have got a set of new wheels for $1000. live and learn.

Also to prove I dont drive in the rain....stock windshield wipers 16 years old and still on the car. 6-4-2015

I document everything.

I don't drive daily (but the same amount in the winter as in the summer) and, yes, it's awesome in the snow with a good set of winter tires. You might run into trouble with clearance depending on how much snow you get and how well it gets plowed, but traction should not be a huge issue.

I drove a 92 GT in northern Vermont for 5 years. Like everyone else said, good snow tires make the difference (and don't drive like an idiot).

A good set of winters like Blizzacks or something similar will be great for snow regardless of vehicle type. Just dont drive like an idiot and drive slow and safe for the conditions.
then when winter is over replace the tires with something for the summer.

if you use winter tires all year round, the winterized part of the tire wears down and becomes an all season tire and you will lose its effectiveness come next winter.

I did this over this winter and it was ok. We only got like 6 inches of snow total though so I was very lucky. Snow mode helps, if I had winter tires I don't think there would any issue driving in snow regularly.

ps drive your cars you bums.

Insurance has been switch from storage mode to summer mode. My car has been "DRIVEN" about 20 feet from back of driveway to front.
23934.4 is now 23934.5 miles. My car just depreciated like $100. I hope you are all happy.

They are pretty awesome in the snow with snow tires. They are pretty lovely on dry days with snow tires.

You won't get stuck in a blizzard and you can spin the tires at like 90mph when it's dry out.

I have iceGuard2s on mine and it's pretty miserable to drive because there is so little traction in the dry that I can't even keep up with pickup trucks through the corners. I'd recommend all seasons if you don't get too much snow.

This is basically the opposite of everything I've heard about snow tires, and the opposite of my (admittedly still brief) experience. That was in a RWD pickup truck, so perhaps slightly different, but you may have a bad set.

Wait, I'm confused, you've heard that snow tires suck in the snow but are great on nice days? That would be the opposite of what I said. I'm not being snarky, it's possible I wasn't clear in my post.

I'm running Yokohama IceGuards, which are the well regarded tires. They are excellent in the snow, without question. They will go zero to way too fast for blizzard conditions in like 10 seconds in 6" of snow and will stop again without any drama.

The problem is on days when it's nice out. On those 40°, clear, and dry days, you want to drive your Mustang like a Mustang. And unfortunately, these things are awful in nice conditions. There's no traction past 5000 RPM in any gear and the car will understeer at 35mphs in corners I take casually at 55 on the factory P-Zeros.

Snow tires are as much a compromise as all-seasons -- you trade dry performance for ice and snow performance. Since I live in Ohio and can work from home, I don't think it's a worthwhile trade-off. We get maybe 3-4 serious snow storms a year and the roads are almost always clear by the next day. So I'll probably replace my snow tires with a reasonable touring tire when the time comes. But if you absolutely have to travel in any weather, a Mustang on snow tires is quite capable.

I meant that winter tires (Blizzacks, in my case) seemed to be a stark improvement over all-seasons in dry, cold weather. Yeah, roads tend towards dirty/caked in dry salt in those conditions, and it's cold, so you're not getting good summer tire traction. There is no such option, as far as I can tell.

I wouldn't say that snow tires are bad in snow - they're obviously better than all-seasons - but you're still driving in snow (more often, slush). So I see it as more of a 'don't get stuck in ditches/bottoms of steep hills' option more than a 'you'll have fun driving in snow' option.

I don't remember much of a problem using snows on dry land. I didn't drive my mustang like a mustang at 40 degrees though. Thats the temp they recommend to start using snows so you're on the edge of usefulness if you have those, for summer tires its too cold, and all seasons are mediocre at best at any temp.

There arent many reviews of your iceguard tire on tirerack, and two of the reviews mentioned them being not great in dry and wet conditions so I think it was just your tire.

I've had problems with my snow tires when its 30ish and dry that go away when the temperature plummets. Still better than all seasons in the winter, but sometimes I wish I had a third set of wheels with all seasons for when Wisconsin will have a couple days of 50s followed by a snow storm AKA spring.

Super depressed. I called up Maximum Motorsports to order front coil overs for my Stang. I wanted to talk to them about spring rate and confirm 250 would be ok for street use.. I told them I had the starter package that came with the bilsteins, cc plate, and springs. They said they have no front spring rates that would be compatible with my existing rear end springs.

They said I had to do the rear coilovers first, before I can do the front coil overs. so my ~$300 order is going to be something like ~800 instead. So before I pull the trigger, I got to figure out if I can find someone to put a groove in my rear shocks.
MM will do it, but I dont want to leave my car on jackstands for a week or two. ugg....
