Plus the big window makes for some loving dramatic photography. LA Coliseum is great for the same reason the Rose Bowl is, simple bowl shapes make the best designs for stadiums. There's no bad seats in either of them.

For how boring the location is, Kauffmann Stadium and Arrowhead are functional, convenient, tailgate-friendly, not named after a company and both had successful renovations. Plus the dream is still alive that this will be added one day. Current: Originally planned with a sliding, bizarre concrete arch designed for heating, cooling, sorta protecting against rain, looking like a processor made in the 70s in Russia.

The new Vikings stadium looks like something the CIA would make or like an alien spaceship that happened to land in a major metropolitan city.

The Raiders have no reason to bluff now, so this increasing chatter with Las Vegas is interesting.quote:Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis will appear before a state committee later this month to discuss relocating the National Football League team to Las Vegas. http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/tourism/raiders-owner-mark-davis-address-state-panel-discuss-proposed-stadium-move-las I wonder if Mark would pursue this over moving into the Kroenkhouse if the Chargers end up staying in SD.

No one in Vegas believes this is anything more than leverage because the city has been jerked around by pro teams in the past. Hell, the T-mobile arena is open and we passed all barriers for getting an NHL team and the process has dragged on so long The NHL thing is based around an expansion, not moving an existing team. It's a completely different situation. 2/3 paid off by tourists is a shitload and there will almost certainly be some movement on that front, but if they provide a realistic amount, they're the front runners to get the Raiders. Oakland is providing nothing, and has jerked the team around for like 20 years. San Antonio isn't real. And if Davis was interested in being second class citizens in someone elses stadium, they'd probably be playing at Levi's, so I doubt the team is eager to join in with Kroenke. We'll have to see how the numbers play out, but right now I think Vegas is really plausible, and perhaps the frontrunner.
