It has the AR of Greatsword with me being able to attack 6 times in a row. ive been rolling with a rapier and a lucerene hammer. ive mostly been using the hammer as a 2h weapon; its strong attack blows but the regular attack can swing a lot and really seems to ruin both poise and anyone dumb enough to try to block it with a shield (where it tends to stagger them on the second hit). the overhead swing on it has nice range and also tracks people that roll pretty effectively, especially the ones that try to roll around you in circles. it doesn't really do enough damage though and since both its 2h strong swing and its special are real lackluster and using with a shield is pretty meh every time ive tried, and lacks a good long poke to get fuckers that try to use estus, so ive been thinking about changing to a more proper weapon. was thinking of going with one of the dual wielding sets since blocking in PVP is pretty suicide anyways. the rapier has seen some action but it just doesn't have the range and it doesn't track people rolling very well. it can be nice when you catch them and stunlock them, but poo poo, the hammer does that too and destroys them if they block as well. Spooky Bear Ghost posted:What entails finishing Siegward's quest? I helped him kill the demon, did I have to do something after that? Yes. Once you reach the Cathedral of the Deep 2nd bonfire, he will be trapped in a well just outside the building. Going back up to the top of Firelink (behind the 20,000 soul key door,) will get you locked in there by Patches. Patches has all of Siegward's armor and you need to buy it all for a total of like 14,000 souls. If you do this, Siegward will save Greirat in Irithyll.

Depending on what you mean by "branching path" you may have missed like 60% of Undead Settlement. Technically there were two paths you could go from the Crystal Sage fight, which lead to two very different zones. I've also found quite a few hidden side areas and optional bosses so far.

cathedral of the deep is loving video game vietnam. the entire run from the starting bonfire, up through the maggot graveyard, up across the entire roof of the building, down into the chapel, and far enough in that you can find an elevator that loops you back to the bonfire you started at was supremely unfun. it was just a boring checklist of bullshit: did you bring a bow and x99 arrows? are you willing to move forward in zoom mode 1 inch at a time, scouring the underside of every wall and tower and archway to make sure you're picking off the gremlins before they drop on you? hey it was a pretty cool surprise when they did that a few times in the undead village right, so it must be super cool if we do it every 10 feet of the loving roof of this castle! literally every enemy that is visible has between 1 and 4 buddies positioned in such a way that no camera angle will reveal them on approach, but trust us they're waiting for you. this is tactic is never not used, so it's never actually a surprise, and it never messes with your expectations, because it happens with every encounter. seriously, if you think you're going to move faster than a methodical crawl, joke's on you! a shield is optional, because there's enough trash monsters here to stamina drain you anyway. BONUS: none of the loot is noteworthy or even worth risking the effort to take. we've made sure of that!

Ok I"m taking a break because goddamn that area was just brutal. Spoilers of course. Manage to find that dragon area and hooooly poo poo jesus is it brutal. Those goddamn snake are a pain in the rear end with the schotel or whatever it's called. I killed the boss (it was more of a puzzle fight but it was fun) and then next area is just some rear end in a top hat who keeps summoning drakeblood knights who hit really drat hard. After all that I find those crystal lizards big bros (not the big titan) who spew out fire. And another goddamn dragon who flies and trys to torch my rear end. I make it all the way through only to find another rear end in a top hat summoner and I lose to a naked guy with a rapier and a crown. Haha.

Lemme check on your checklist: Nope. Who would do this? It's not supposed to be a surprise, that comes later, once you are inside. If you aren't capable of killing these guys fast enough that they don't build up on you, you hosed up. Go upgrade something. You can ignore the entire graveyard and just run through it. The only part that is remotely hard is when there are two grave wardens (dual curved sword enemies) in one small place, and even then, just aggro one at a time? This one is true. I think you can summarize that in two words, both start with g.

I sure enjoy the "Framerate issues detected, no online for you, returning to main menu, start the whole program over rear end in a top hat" feature going off real easy sometimes. I get like 50-60 FPS constant for 90% of my play, but sometimes the obvious little stage transition bits (Small bridge that's the only way out of and into X area) will just tank my frames down to powerpoint mode for a minute, not even consistently, sometimes they will and sometimes the very same one won't, then it goes bananas and welp you might as well have crashed game, it would've been quicker.

The forest is an awesome place to farm tongues because if you ever got caught in a situation where it's 1v2 or 1v3 and they refuse to come out after you you can just wait a minute or two for watchdog reinforcements and duke it out in a team battle e: Also using the red eye orb in the forest is INSTANT. Like zero wait from the second you use it. Best dark souls ever.
