Pickup starts at 3%-4% of the total ammo, with the exception of special weapons and snipers. Nothing picks up as many bullets as a KSP or MG42 but I really don't have a problem maintaining ammo count with SMGs, though I do have to keep the Krinkov in single-fire most of the time. I almost always devote my second weapon slot to either explosives or the Thanatos.

As a grinder fugimind, I use the Valk and a HE Judge so I can get the full concealment bonuses for Sneaky Bastard. Valk is great except for the clip size and HE Judge is amazing for crowd control in DW. Stun dozers and shields or just knock a room full of cops on their asses long enough for your teammates to recover/kill them. I focus more on survivability than pure cop killing though.

That's sort of false binary; survivability is head-clicking. Can't take damage if there's no enemies on map. Mind you, we agree on the important bits, like "HE judge = yes"

what I want to know is, what mod is this? I really want to shoot explosions at 2000RPM

Balance- they're too drat good, with no real downsides. They'd still get the massive ammo pickup and other benefits such as the why-on-earth-not bipod, and I'd also add full sight mod slot functionality, including a normal non-bipod ADS option for those who like whiplash. To curtail the immediate counterargument, yes, I'd be changing a few other weapons/weapon classes too:
  • Pistols come to mind as needing a bunch of nerfs and buffs, but their interaction with skill systems makes them very complicated to tweak. A lot of weapon-specific changes are in order there.
  • Sniper rifle damage would be normalized somewhat to make the weaker rifles more appealing-the net effect would be a damage increase o the lower ones, while higher ones will be about the same.
  • Several shotguns would be buffed, Dragon's Breath would be usable again, and I'd generally tweak special shotgun ammo totals and pickup rates to make them appealing. HE rounds would probably get a flat damage increase.
  • Some of the ARs also need adjustments on a case-by-case basis, though to a much lesser degree than pistols. (Cavityyyy :arghfist::tem:)
  • The skill rebalance looks like it may change SMGs enough that I'm not going to touch them for now.
  • I'd give the saw a massive damage increase against enemies, especially Bulldozers, Hector and the Phalanx.

I don't think Dragon's Breath can be made usable because IIRC you can't make it activate Overkill without making the flamethrower also do so.

It was probably the Goonmod Fireworks Mutator.
Old version of NATO before the creator removed all gun mod stats works too.

The recoil is insane for 1/10th of the mag but after that the recoil stops completely. You still won't be able to hit anything because of the spread though.

Just keep your spotter in civvie mode and have them relay info over comms. They can't be detected.

I suggested that once, he complained about not being able to mark things. His getting caught is the only real hurdle to us completing that heist in DW. Its one of the last ones for us to clear. Alesso being the other. Same issue there.

Tell your spotter to suck it up and go civvie on Golden Grin. On Alesso send him to cover ground floor and basement.

Edit: In general, in case you wonder, Golden Grin is significantly simpler than Alesso.

There's some interesting stuff in there. The Gunslinger tree will make pistols even stronger, although it does kind of suck if you wanted to use a pistol sidearm and something not akimbo for your primary, because Gun Play isn't really needed anymore. Relentless tree seems really good at not-dying and I expect to see a lot of people acing Nine Lives and acing Up You Go even if the rest of their points are spent in other trees. The Brawler tree does not look very good, but Bloodthirst is a neat idea, at least.

Frenzy was the secret sauce they needed to make berserker appealing.

Trigger happy as a top-tier skill is pretty :lol: considering how terrible it is. Maybe they'll change it so you don't lose all your stacks when you miss a shot.

I hadn't played this game in well over a year and reinstalled it last night. I popped back in and started futzing around trying to remember all the details and might have hosed up. So it looks like there are Perks now - I used all my points on Maniac but didn't really understand what I was doing, I don't see an option to respec Perks, am I SOL?

Regeneration decks seem like they'll have powerful synergy with Frenzy ace, you're effectively trading some EHP for a 60% boost in effective regeneration. Infiltrator + Frenzy ace means you could regenerate two-thirds of your health with a single melee attack every 10 seconds. Grinder could be back to wading into assault waves without giving a gently caress about cops.

Maniac is pretty good, actually. You should finish it so you can enjoy its full benefits (including a XP buff!) before moving on to the next one.
