This picture will be the background behind the casket at F1's funeral (aka the awards ceremony for Rosberg's WDC). Given the rumours about the teams trying to oust Bernie, I expect it to take place in Brussels, at the headquarters of F1's new governance, the European Commission. They will fulfill all of the teams' wishes by doing what they do best, making sure that nothing gets improved while spending millions from British taxpayers. This thread is in for a treat, years and years of undisputed victories from the guy you love despite nobody actually thinking that he is the best driver, Nico Rosberg, while Our Lewis gets all the slow clutches, defective power units and tyres that for some reason last half as long as Nico's.

Vladimir Putin should be "running" Europe and Donald Trump would make a "fantastic" American president, the Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has claimed.

The 85-year-old chief executive of the Formula One Group added that he was “100 per cent an outer” when it came to the EU referendum and said he believed immigration has brought no benefits whatsoever to Britain.

Speaking at Advertising Week Europe in London, he told the WPP chief executive, Sir Martin Sorrell: “I think Europe has become less important, full stop.

As it was pointed out that he is a great admirer of Putin, Ecclestone responded: “He should be running Europe.”

Asked if he should be in Brussels "running Europe?” he replied: “No, we should get rid of Brussels and he should just be in charge.

“He does what he says he’s gonna do, he gets the job done. I mean people don’t understand exactly what he wants to do ... He wants to put Russia back to what it was.”

Asked on his views of the Republican favourite, Donald Trump, he said: “I think he’d be fantastic [as president].

The worst was that horrible tendency it had to lock up its brakes and go straight on at a corner whenever a car was within 4s of it on track. Or about to out-qualify it.

In all seriousness, (and this is going to sound like a horrible misogynist thing to say) none of the prospective female drivers are any good. Even if you take who everyone says are the two most likely candidates to get into F1 based on skill

Alice Powell
Raced in GP3 in 2012, and 2013. Came in 19th & 31st respectively.

Beitske Visser
Has done a total of 3 races in GP3, her best finishing position was 27th.

(I'm counting only GP2 and GP3 results as those are traditionally the feeder series for F1, Alice Powell has two championship titles in Formula Renault sub-genres that I've never heard of.)
