Fortunately, the Avenger saucer is exactly that. I ended up just using all the Avenger pieces, but I'm probably going to switch to the Arbiter hull and pylons.

Traitwise yeah. As a ship the Jhu'ael fits the same niche but is straight-up better. (right?)

Then in terms of whales there's the T6 Scimitars, which are, being Scimitars, ridiculously overpowered.

The Morrigu has a decent trait, the Vastam has AHOD which is a great trait. I don't think any of the other Rom ships have traits worth spending money on.

For actually flying, the T6 scimitars are basically upgraded T5 scimitars. Since the T5 scimitars were the some of the most overpowered ships in the game even after T6 ships were introduced, you can probably imagine what the T6 versions are like.

Lock box trait, Vastam, and Morrigu respectively, though the latter is not as good as the FED/KDF battlecruisers. It functions more like an escort or destroyer, in terms of its console layout and bridge officer seating. Its two-piece effectively lets you treat one of the two consoles involved (usually its own and the Valdore's, especially since it was just given away for free recently) as if it had an in-built RCS (turn rate) bonus.

Speaking of ship traits, I've pretty solidly embraced AHOD, Supremacy, Reciprocity, and Emergency Weapon Cycle, but that fifth slot is constantly rotating between things I can't decide on. Anyone got a favorite they care to weight in with, preferably with an offensive focus?

Nah, I'm typically at like 1/8 to 1/2 throttle, because max engine power in a JHSS all the time with the random apo or oss burst makes anything close to full speed completely uncontrollable if I want to maintain firing arc/cycles.

I've been running Improved Predictive Algorithms, but mostly for the debuff clearing. Technically it means I pretty much always have extra ACC, but that's useless since BFaW is up so often.

edit: I guess Unconventional Tactics is a straight damage buff when you hit brace for impact, but without knowing what category it is, it's hard to say whether or not it's actually useful.

For a brief month or so the TR116B was glorious sign that you weren't a destitute space pleb. Now they are so cheap and common that all the pubbies have them, but still treat them like the status symbol that they once were.

Also they're a top-tier gun with excellent capabilities - sniper rifle, 100% shield bypass, immune to Borg adaption - available for chump change, so are a sensible purchase for the space poor that make up most of this game.

Although the new model looks crap.

An additional benefit is both fire modes work with auto fire. Set and forget. I only bought the gun recently but it's been very useful in the Dyson battlezone.

Yeah, I keep one in my off-slot. My main gun is, of course, an upgraded version of the TWOK pistol that causes your enemies to vapourise in a blue glowing horrified pose on every killshot. (For bling, I also highly recommend the one that shoots visual blur like the PPGs from Babylon 5) (unless you have the lobi for a wizard's staff)

The Arbiter's model mostly sucks. Get it, then switch the model to that of the Avenger, which looks vastly better. I personally kept the Arbiter nacelles on it, they're the only thing I liked from the Arbiter, and switched every other part out for Avenger parts.

I've splurged on ground rep guns recently because I guess I hate the thought of building space wealth. Right now my secondary is Tholian sword but I wish there was a good full auto rifle or set of dual pistols for crowd control duty.

Didn't geko say shortly after DR that all specializations would be space based because ground sub-specs arent as easy to monetize? IIRC that was the explanation for pilot, and why no other ground content has really been done since then.
