Long Guide just updated with Goat Heist info. Major points:
    Day 1:
  • There are also 6/8/10/14/17 cops at the crash on N/H/VH/OK/DW. If any cop or gangster dies, an additional 8/10/14/18/24 cops 15 seconds later.
  • At the beginning of the heist, the best thing to do is to remain undetected, you can usually do this by turning around and running backwards (although this isn’t possible for 1 of the spawns and is much harder to do with multiple people and higher detection). This has several benefits. You can remain in stealth for 30 seconds before the police are alerted, and use that time to start collecting goats without any resistance. The other is by not killing any cops or gangsters, you won’t trigger the additional weak cops spawn.

    Day 2:
  • The beginning of the heist has you fighting off 2 waves of gangsters, wave 1 starts at 21 seconds and wave 2 at 48 seconds, which has 38/49/65 gangsters across both waves on N/H+HV/OK+DW, of which 16 are gangster snipers.
    [finale sez: presumably these are just gangsters that spawn at holes in the ceiling]
  • The longfellow can be driven underneath the ledge where cops often jump down from, this is a good way to kill lots of cops with zero ammo consumption, and a excellent way to prevent your team from getting swamped.

Also, a lot of pubs are currently setting up lobbies that autokick if you haven't played enough hours because this game sure needed more elitism in its community. I once got kicked for not having played over 1300 or something absurd like that.

There was a system chat message saying that I would be automatically kicked for playing less than X hours. It also says something along the lines of "players who have played less than X hours will be automatically kicked" whenever you join one of the lobbies with that mod installed.

I don't think so, it'll just say you've been kicked. If you manage to stay inside the match, there's some kind of automated message that prints out your details that fit the criteria you automagically passed. A botched implementation for sure but PD2's filters leave a lot to be desired.

If you play with pubbies, always host. The majority of people I end up kicking thinks it's okay to spew racist tripe. It probably stems from spamming the comm rose as Chains. :unsmigghh:

Some people aren't satisfied with DW+, so they're working on variants. I joined in a game that was trying a work in progress mod called Hardcore...which was pretty hardcore.

The modder is ViciousWalrus, who is Wilko-tier. These will almost certainly function as BLT-equivalent in terms of ease of use, and will not replace assets. They're going to be very good, and this in all likelihood does represent a sea change in the viability of custom heists.

Had a nightclub run with 8 bags of Coke. Never seen that before in literally years of playing this game. Long guide doesn't have any numbers on it- does anyone know how rare that is?

If it matters, console, so whenever bomb heist update was for reference. Opened safe with lockpick if that matters too.

four bags in each of two additional safes? Lockpicking wouldn't be relevant, and I think per-safe odds are just random distribution 1-4. I think the odds of 2 versus 1 extra safe are 50/50 on upper difficulties, so that would make the odds of this happening 3.125%

The guys who wanted to do custom heists have been working at it for months and months now, it's pretty awesome to see how far they've come with it. Hopefully it's not at all like the last attempt though, since you had to replace a shitload of assets via a pdmod to get that one to work. My bandwidth cap can't afford 20gb updates!

I'd like to share the cool stuff that I've done over the past few months, but I probably can't until July, and it only effects me anyway :v:

I talked to that guy again - he said its more optimized than DW+, gives cops more health, removes all player invincibility frames (sets them to 0), and if you have the mod, bulldozers sprint. No website for it yet though.

Edit: There are also !commands, including !loud (alerts the cops in heists that start in casing mode), and !rtd (random events, buggy though).

OK, I was heavily misremembering how spawns work on that map. Pretty sure money spawns is 1-4 random, but I'm less clear on how coke works. I'll ask the long guide guy.

What was the last attempt? I think the Beardlib architecture removes the need for asset replacements- I'm not knowledgeable about how it works.

Map geometry units were modified to allow them to be moved around and networked. Then things were moved around and spawned in different areas. It was more map modification than new maps, since you would be playing in a different area on an existing map.
