You really really don't want to convince people who are not into racing to come along with you to a race weekend even if they make mutterings about wanting to see Taylor Swift. They don't understand why you would want to be on time for stuff like free practice or the fan forums and bitch and moan about how boring they are and dude can we not go get drunk why would you want to see this. Plenty of people will be flying solo and little groups tend to form up, or you get brought into whatever group is sat next to you in the stands.

When it was bonkers loud you just sit on your rear end with hearing protection on, mostly wondering what the gently caress is going on unless you're in front of a track tv at which point you wonder why you're not watching from the couch at home. Now that they're quiet you can talk during the race so you normally end up making friends with people around you.
