If my numbers are right Im pretty sure Russia was 1-2 finish number 25 for Hamilton and Rosberg - they now have the all time record by passing Schumacher and Barrichello. Most likely will have atleast 30 by the time the season is over !

To be fair the only visible sponsor they have is a fuel company.

Norns posted:Hurray for higher fuel limits 2017 F1 could be made so much better with a higher fuel flow rate, not only amount and with removing the complex wings and replacing that downforce with ground effects. Boom, you've got nose to tail racing and noisy, sputtery rich forced induction action all at once.

I suppose running a corpse around in an F1 car would cause some weight issues and require a reduction in fuel loads.

MattD1zzl3 posted:F1 could be made so much better with a higher fuel flow rate, not only amount and with removing the complex wings and replacing that downforce with ground effects. teams don't get anywhere near the fuel flow rate limit. it's 100kg/hr and they are limited to 100kg for the entire race, increasing to 105kg next season. increasing the rate limit is pointless unless you increase fuel capacity to like 200kg or reintroduce refueling. also i think the FIA doesn't want to re-introduce ground effects because they know they are not capable of regulating it in any meaningful way

I'd rather see ground effect reintroduced over all those loving appendages we had in the mid to late 2000's. God those cars were ugly.

Aero is fine but just as you can't develop an 8 liter 48 cylinder engine you shouldn't be able to throw a ton of aero at the cars, and the FIA's current method of waiting until someone comes up with something too good to ban it isn't working.

George Zimmer posted:Outside of fan cars and double chassis, aren't ground effects pretty straightforward? yeah, and that's kind of the problem. cars with ground effects were producing G forces that were simply not safe. i don't think the FIA is capable of regulating that. with winglets they just draw a box and say "you can't put anything outside of this box."
