Ah, both the first and best TIHYDP. Some of the ones that have been made since are pretty bad. There was one guy who did a bunch of videos about DSP's Cooking With The King that are absolutely cringe worthy and who then had a big baby fit over someone else watching one on a livestream. I wish I could figure out how to summarize it in a funny way.

Every time I watch it I come close to cutting him some slack then I remember a few choice facts. He plays video games for a living, and should have developed a grasp on some fundamentals that cross genres and platforms. It loving says stealth on the box. He's playing the rerelease with BETTER controls. It says stealth right on the loving box.

On one hand, the fact that DSP can make a living(?) playing video games makes me regret many life decisions and lament being born a decade early. On the other hand, if I had to create and maintain some idiot persona so people would keep watching me and I could keep paying my bills, I think I'd pass and get a real career anyway. I've watched my fair share of LPs, but I like them when they're not blind runs and show off something about the game, or maybe include entertaining commentary to go along with what they're doing (the Demon Soul LP in the archive, for example). But to spend time watching a manchild purposefully fail at demonstrating any acumen for a game seems like the worst waste of an hour. The supercut is okay, because it cuts out the chaff (I'm still not going to watch it all) but to watch the originals must be one of the most depressing signs that you've got literally nothing better to do. Even watching it while doing other stuff is dedicating a sliver of your brain to the visual equivalent of someone making a fart noise with their mouth. GameCenter CX has someone who is bad at videogames get better over the course of the episode. We can relate to the challenges Arino faces and his accomplishments are earned and translate well to the viewer. I would not have though watching a TV show about someone playing Lemmings would be enjoyable, but now I know I was wrong. Listening to someone say "why are you on your belly? I just somersaulted and now he's on his loving belly, what the hell" about a basic mechanic after hours with the game just sounds like the worst. I can't wait for the YouTube personality bubble to pop

A buddy of mine from HS is the creator of the first all YouTube talent agency. He represents iJustine, Shane Dawson, and Dulce Candy or something. The dude was smart as hell because he left a regular talent agency and grabbed all these people like 4 years ago right when they started to need actual management. He still has to deal with millions of tweens flooding his social media about how they are all the next being Streamer, make-up tutor, loud mouth presenter, and more. He says its exhausting how many spergs think they are gonna be huge but just like regular media less than 1% are pretty enough, talented enough, and just plain lucky enough.
