Who has better episodes, Klingons or Romulans? I'm thinking of rolling an alt just to see what the other factions' leveling experiences are like (i.e., not to get to high levels or play at endgame or anything) but I'm not sure which to start with.

Hm, it's actually not a bad ship. +10 stats per any ship in Admiralty, and comes with a Romulan battle cloak for the few missions that call for a shuttle. You could do way worse.

Has cannon rapid fire as its singularity skill too. I think the klank fighter is better since it gets the same power but none of the singularity downsides, but the scorpion is definitely a close second.

I'm an idiot and have decided to start playing this game again after a long time away (I think I stopped playing before delta rising came out) to scratch my pew pew spaceship game itch. It looks like they went and changed some poo poo on me since the last time I played, so I have a couple newbie questions: 1) It looks like they drastically changed the level up skill upgrade system; is there a guide that tells me what the best build is (I'm a tac officer and I like beam cruisers) or does it not matter too much? 2) Is crafting a thing that I can safely ignore? When I used to play, I used to just ignore it and sell mats on the exchange for easy money; just making sure I'm not loving myself if I continue to do that, like maybe they've hidden away important endgame stuff behind crafting?

You want an eng in the universal otherwise you're flying with only 2 eng powers which means either breaking up the EPtX chain or going without a hull heal. You want epts and eptw along with aux to struct, use the 4th slot for either eng team for an extra hull heal or a pilot skill for more zoom. For cooldown reductions you want the ship traits reciprocity and all hands on deck along with 3 damage control eng doffs to handle your eng stuff. That will get you running at or near full reduction without aux2bat.

Technically Hazard Emitters is a sci hull heal, plus there are traits (or was it a doff?) that you can slot to heal you as you blow things up.

At least do the research dailies - it takes a couple of seconds to queue them up, and each school gives you a trait when you hit level 15 in it. And once your beams skill is higher, you can craft masses of mk II beams while annoying pubbies on Risa and possibly hit the lottery and make some EC from it.
