New players farting love alternate win cons, and whenever they mill a good card they get hyphy as gently caress about it. Actually a lot of players get a little tilted at seeing one of's or good cards get milled, but so long as you don't get decked and lose from it, it's no different than those cards being in the bottom 15% of your deck.

How SCG thinks they can still get 5 bucks a month from people for subscribing to their twitch channel when they only stream every once in a while nowadays.

IIRC they only get 2 bucks, streamers split sub fees with Twitch. I think its just an attempt to keep their chat from being toxic.

making people pay to chat is actually a good thing every stream should do, cause it keeps out the cruft

Meh, twitch chat can be vile as gently caress, but all attempts to snuff that out makes the chat uninteresting.

Goran is a friend of mine and he was posting sketches he'd done for cards on FB yesterday. I was trying to figure out why the hell he was posting the sketch for Deceiver Exarch, when it hit me.

A black player made a run to the final of last week's Hearthstone tournament. The chat was full of racist vitriol for basically every second he was on-stream. Sticking to sub mode seems fairly sensible.

I've just been goldfishing with it on tappedout but it seems pretty fun. I swapped out flip jace for flip lili and it works just as well. She flips very easily and being able to recur a sac outlet is very nice. Plus if for some reason you get her to ultimate you just win, so that's nice.

As mentioned a few pages back, the Scapeshift matchup against mill is about as close to unwinnable as it gets in Modern.

patrick is really awesome (cedric too), I'd watch born of the gods limited if those two guys were doing the commentary. the fact that it's modern and that modern is great right now is even better.

they should invest in some better lights for the venue though, it's really dark on the stream.

This is almost understating it. It was a loving atrocity, and the Hearthstone community even defended it as being "just how the whole internet is" which is fairly bananas

I admit I haven't seen the Hearthstone stream being referenced, but I certainly see a similar phenomenon in MTGO streams. Every time a female player is on camera or doing commentary for a competitive event, the chat instantly fills with stupid leading questions insinuating that they aren't worthy of being featured. Fortunately this is usually followed by a merciful round of timeouts, but it feels like the only difference between that and the racism incident is volume.
