I just know their poo poo is a bit pricey. http://www.shinola.com/shop/bicycles/the-detroit-arrow.html $1k? gently caress that. colas has a new favorite as of 23:58 on May 19, 2016 |

A Razer Nabu, just now for 60 CAD. It's pretty nifty, it has all the same basic functions as a Fitbit with the added notifications and phone music control. Plus the battery life is 6 days and that impresses the hell out of me. Overall a better machine than the Fitbit flex I was given.

$1000 and it has about $100's worth of parts on it including plastic pedals. With that price and level of kit I'd expect the frame to be something truly magical but no, it's just a basic, cheap cromoly steel that costs pennies by the ton.

With that price and level of kit I'd expect the frame to be something truly magical but no, it's just a basic, cheap cromoly steel that costs pennies by the ton. Well, the frame is welded in Wisconsin by one of the best builders in the business, Waterford Precision. And it's made from US tubing. Waterford steel frames normally start at $2000, although that includes custom geometry as well. The wheels and brakes are all quality brand name stuff, everything else is no-name generics, but they look okay. On the other hand, I don't see the point of having the best builders in the world building something that'll only ever be used for 10 min rides to the shop. So yes, in that sense it's overpriced as hell.

If you've just been using the same rechargeable battery that came in the thing, yeah its going to have poo poo charge. Or just use the cable that came with it and treat it like a wired mouse. I've been using logitech G series mice for a decade at this point and can't really imagine using anything else.

In Lemond related news, bought a new TA chainring for my old Lemond Poprad, so that I too can ride the gravel bike hype train. It's only 42t, 'cause I want to do some light touring on the side and I'm too much of a wimp for 50t. Also as much as I love their stuff, Campagnolo can gently caress right off with their loving hidden bolt.
