Afaik you don't even have to be facing the Tazer, can confirm this skill owns. The over all reorganization of Ghost in general is really nice. I do wish they'd do something about grinder because I'm not digging ex prez as much, the regen is fine though getting your armor to break when you need to can be a little tricky. I could always run rogue & have a total of 55 dodge, but I don't really care for being stingy with my FAKs.

Probably going to try & work out a crazy LMG/shotgun man techforcer next since all that stuff does sound crazy fun.

If you like dodge, they packed everything neatly into ghost. Fugitive imo is now terrible but Nine Lives is a single point now so if you go down a lot that's probably not a bad investment. The best advice I can give you is to experiment, a lot of the old skills are still in tact or have been worked into other skills. The next few weeks will no doubt be a lot of random trial & error for most of us as we fine tune our builds. That being said, I'm pretty sure I've seen a few builds posted in this thread if you're willing to dig the last 10 pages or so.

Also, post your steam name so you can be invited to the group & hang out in the payday 2 goons chat, or catch us in mumble.

Yeah I kinda figured that it would take some time before new pro-builds were locked down. I do need to get on Mumble when I play - I just havent been able to play much. Sometime when I'm not at work I'll grab my steam ID/page thingy so I can get in the group.

At this stage, I'd say: Pick a weapon type, and take most of that tree (Sharpshooter for single shot weapons, Oppressor for automatics, Gunslinger for pistols, Shotgunner for shotguns). Pick a deployable (Medic for first aid kits/doctor bags, Ammo Specialist for ammo bags, Engineer for turrets, Breacher for mines, Covert Ops for ECMs), and take most of that tree. Spread the remaining points around whatever sounds interesting.

I was tempted to but never tried a saw in the past - is that worth giving a go now that you can get the skill that lets you take it as a secondary?

This makes a lot of sense, thank you. I think I'm level 65ish so based on what I saw of the new trees last night that sounds do-able and smart.

No. The saw is not a weapon, realistically. It's a tool that allows you to speed up/circumvent certain parts of certain heists - it has specific, pre-determined situations where having one is useful, and it's anywhere from 95% to 100% worthless in all others. This is actually more true than it used to be, as a lot of secondary weapons now are good enough to function as primaries. As a weapon, the saw is terrible - it has no range (duh), the damage is mediocre, it has poor ammo efficiency and it only restocks from ammo bags.

Basically - a saw is kind of handy if it's 1) a H&T bank heist, 2) Firestarter, or 3) an Armored Transport. All other times it will function only to bypass one or two doors instead of drilling them or crack open a single ATM - if it even has that much.

Thanks for the info. I thought about getting it because I have practically zero weapon mods and I feel like all my guns suck, so I was trying to pop through a bunch of quick missions, like 4 Stores or Mall Smashup and figured that I keep seeing more ATMs than I can open (I've seen in upwards of 4 ATMs in the mall mission a couple times). Also bank vaults tend to have a zillion lockboxes that you can open with a saw. If I can take the saw as the secondary and have a Primary I like a lot I dont have a problem bringing it along, especially if playing with friends and it means we make more money or whatever.

Yep.

You still get a little "flash", but take no damage. Note that when it triggers you get a "cooldown" that can give you more chances to dodge.

Per the long guide:
Successful dodges also start the damage cooldown, using the full damage of the attack as the value to compare. The remarkable part is that the dodge is calculated even while the cooldown may still be in effect, so all dodges within the cooldown time window are considered. Against a homogeneous group of enemies with identical weapons, there's a point where more gunfire actually benefits you. When receiving a gunshot every 0.05 seconds, you have 9 opportunities (7 on Deathwish) to dodge within the cooldown. If any dodge succeeds, the cooldown starts anew, giving you another 9 chances. However, dodges are only calculated if the enemies would have hit otherwise (missing shots do not count).

Dodge is maximized by wearing suits/low armor and using skills (sneaky bastard, duck and cover, etc ).

The mall has like 6 ATMs so it's a good one to bring a saw to.

What you're talking about is actually exactly what the saw is for - Mallcrasher does have a ton of ATMs (in fact, there's an achievement for basically collecting all of them in under a minute), and those deposit boxes are about the one thing the saw is mandatory for. The thing is, those are about all it's good for. (It's useful on Firestarter because there's several doors that you can pop open to save a significant amount of time, and on Armored Transport because that's more deposit boxes.) The saw occupies a similar space as to breaching charges - it's a rarely used tool to skip some dull parts of a heist or access a little bit of extra loot.

Don't worry too much about the weapon mods, though. You'll get plenty of those in time, and if you're using GoonMod and Gagecoins, you'll quickly reach the point of having anything and everything you feel like. Try watching what the daily Side Jobs are - those will let you get more mods to use.

Gotchya, thanks again. I've never actually done any side jobs, guess I will have to look into those. Part of my angst about weapon mods is that I have gotten the same mod for the same gun three times, for like 4 or 5 guns. Meanwhile I dont have sights, silencers, mag extensions, better stocks, or anything else for most other guns that I have tried. I have not bothered with any mods because I got intimidated by the installation process for the things such as goon mod because I have never used any of those pieces of software.

I just went and checked the files themselves and you're fuckin' full of poo poo mate. Everything still uses one of three sets of spread numbers
Pretty much every single gun
Standing, moving standing, moving crouching: 3x
Crouching (stationary), iron sights: 1.2x

Shotguns + Specials
Standing, moving standing, moving crouching: 6x
Crouching (stationary), iron sights: 2.4x

Light + Heavy Crossbow
Standing, crouching, both moving and stationary: 2.1x
iron sights: 1.2x

So pretty much the only weapons with exotic spread numbers are ones you aren't going to be comparing between anyway (like shotgun vs non-shotgun accuracy, explosive weapon vs non-explosive weapon etc.)

eh? I must have ran into the exceptions as the MAC 10 is just god awful possibly made worse by the terrible sight picture when firing. I have the same issue with the Vector Cross where it shakes all to hell and it doesn't have the accuracy you would expect. The Micro UZI with it's insane rate of fire hardly shakes the picture and is accurate. I don't know what's going on with these guns. For all I know it just might be a personal thing I am noticing.

What did I do to you to set you off? I messed up 1 piece of information and was the only thing that I wasn't sure of in that entire post.

Looking at it further, it seems that suppressed sentry turrets are bugged and can't be picked up. I even took both types of sentries thanks to jack of all trades and once I deployed suppressed ones then I couldn't pick up any of the turrets.

Right, so basically nothing's changed. :v:

I couldn't get the Commando up to 39.9 without its accuracy going utter garbage, though (like, ~50ish) - the FAMAS gets to 70ish before conditional skill modifiers, which is nice (I'm glad it's good now).

The breakpoints are still 40+ on Overkill for ARs and 80+ for shotguns, right? What are the Deathwish breakpoints?
