Word of Long Guide is it actually entirely depends on shooting the windshield or not, without any random chance. If you shoot it it falls front-first, if you don't it falls back-first. Front-first is generally better.

It's not random. If you shoot out the windows of the truck as it's driving it will always fall front first, which gives you more cover in the warehouse. If you shoot the windows of the Murky vans that are escorting it, the vans will also flip over and fewer Murky soldiers will be waiting for you as run to the warehouse.

This is patently untrue. Silencers are a universal buff to any gun that can have them, but LMGs themselves have been really good - and been continuously buffed - since the Crimefest rebalance. I'm probably biased though since I have been saying LMGs have been good long before everybody else jumped on them.

i'm pretty sure that the way LMGs are set up right now they get like 5-8 points of stability/accuracy from being fartgun specced vs using a compensator of some flavor

the days of an LMG requiring a fartgun spec to hit important break points, especially in damage, are gone.

My problem with LMGs is that you can't get to 90 accuracy/stability, which makes hitting with them while full auto firing on the move fairly hard beyond short ranges. The bipod's great but it requires you to be stationary when I prefer to run around spraying like an idiot. :v:

It's not just the stability bonus, it's also the +8 accuracy you get from the Bigger silencer + silencer skills compared to just using a compensator.

e; I mean, just to illustrate my point:




The difference isn't just on paper - the silenced version is noticeably easier to control full auto than the loud version.

Seriously though, why do you need 90 accuracy/stability? Particularly since at any point you can bipod up for a second or two if you've got to take really long-distance shots.

I'm noticing some really bad ammo pickup rates with the loco even with the Enforcer ammo scrounger, so I'm assuming there was a general nerf to ammo rates to compete with Shotgun's return to high rate of fire and damage shenanigans?

Ammo rates got reduced to 1% to 3.5% in the beta, and I'm assuming the same changes went into the live game.

Why not? There's barely any difference between the RPK and Brenner's stats (Brenner to RPK is -4 acc, +4 stab) and the Brenner has 50% more magazine (in exchange for a reload that's 0.5s longer with Lock & Load).

If you're moving and shooting and don't want to stop don't forget you can hold right-mouse to tighten up your spread. Spread modifier goes from 3x (base without skills, cause I think there's a skill or 2 that reduces hipfire spread specifically) to 1.2x.

It's pretty nice looking. Since they got all the stability skills working properly when the skill beta went live, I've had less issues using it since the designer who made the stats for the Hungry Wolf is really bad at gun modding and modded the thing for accuracy.

Incoming wankery post about how I emptied my Steam wallet this past week that you are free to ignore !!!

The Hungry Wolf has some weird stats where, besides being modded for accuracy, as far as I can tell it doesn't have any sort of barrel extension since it just works off of base damage + the 5% from Fast and Furious. Also you can't actually see the shopping list written on the belt magazine unless you max out the in-game FOV, and I sure as gently caress am not doing that after spending 2000+ hours at the default FOV setting just to jerk off to my expensive crap.




Akimbo Crosskills aren't that great, especially since akimbo Interceptors/Chimano Customs exist, but the twin references to both Face/Off and The Terminator make these cool. For those not in the know, Nic Cage wields akimbo golden 1911s in Face/Off and Arnie uses a 1911 clone with a goofy rear end 1980s laser attached to it. The 1980s lasers are also really obstructive, but it's a good thing you can get akimbo pistols to 100 accuracy now so I just hip-fire them whenever possible. These things also have a great bug where anybody with the "Use HQ weapons" setting ticked off in the video options can't join somebody who has them equipped.





The GL40 skin from the Jimmy collection is actually pretty tepid. Most of those Jimmy skins as a whole are rather boring; I'll likely sell this bad boy.


Sydney skins are selling at ridiculous prices but at least the Baby Deagle skin has dropped from 100 dollars (which literally nobody paid) to ~15 (which people are still reluctant to pay but are). Don't have that one but I have these; the Stryk one in particular is the best of the lot.

Honestly, the RPK used to be so much better but now they're about the same. I hadn't checked since Crimefest.

For what it's worth LMGs need stability way more than they need accuracy, and the Brenner has worse horizontal recoil which is harder to compensate for unless you're just used to that particular gun.

Neither of them are nearly as good as the KSP or MG42, though. Low-accuracy guns are more fun when you're spraying and picking up many more bullets. If you sweat the fact your bullets are doing less than 39.9 damage a pop just dump a single point in Underdog or something and you'll have it whenever it might actually matter.

I can attest to Cook Off being bugged. For my experience, the sound slowly cut out: First gunshot sounds went away, then melee attacks and environmental voice lines like police and teammate yells, then Bain's lines and audio subtitles blinked out completely, which made it impossible to do.

I also took the last few rounds out of an ammo bag, left the empty bag laying there, and then when I tried to use it again out of morbid curiosity, the game hardlocked and CTDed. Overkill! :v:

I know I've had that bug at Hotline Miami at some point, but it went away on it's own. It had the same symptoms, but the game would crash on it's own at some point.

Impressions of latest big changes:

1) Grinder nerfed, so back to Techforcer like it's 2013. Only this time Techforcers can actually run rather fast.
2) CAR-4 is a monster once again, although due to reduced ammo pickup rates you do need to dip into ammo bags once in a while.
3) 14 trip mines seems a bit of an excessive number. Haven't tried the skill that lets them lay down a carpet of fire, which sounds a bit goofy to me.
4) Staggering shields by shooting at them is a good, a new way to kill them from distance rather than bringing Judge every single mission.
5) SMGs are DW-viable at last.
6) Is it me of can anybody use akimbo now, without having to equip a skill or perk deck like previously?
7) Good that you can re-spec individual skills unlike previously when you had to re-spec an entire tree after a single wrong move. Bonus: skills no longer cost imaginary internet money so I can accumulate more of that.

Overall, fairly happy with the changes though I was initially skeptical when they announced a total overhaul of the skill tree.

They still haven't added in the post 100 generation safes so both are probably hosed until they're informed that something different is in play.

You can just buy them from the market if you really wanted to; they're all sitting at roughly the same price as it would be to buy them directly (except for Crimefest 2 drills, but that collection is garbage anyway).

It's actually pretty funny to watch the market prices of drills rise, since they have been consistently 50 cents to a dollar cheaper than it would be to buy them directly.
