Yeah, it hit 114 here in Gilbert. I mostly worked around the house after watching the Cubs lose, then went to go get more dog food and regretted leaving the house within a minute.

I actually have a geology degree and was at ASU when the school helped out with the "SUPERVOLCANO" episode regarding Yellowstone. It is overdue... (though interestingly enough, the Superstition Mountains to the east of Phoenix actually blew up in a supervolcano-ish scenario, and if you go hiking up some the mountains, you can find the ash deposit layer as part of the strata. It's pretty cool. The San Francisco peaks near Flagstaff are still technically active too and could wipe out Flagstaff pretty effectively if they ever went off to their true potential).
