Corbyn's written a piece for the Mirror about making peace with the rest of the party. Jeremy Corbyn posted:Britain now faces an economic and political crisis. Since voters decided to leave the European Union, financial markets have been in a tailspin. Threats to living standards have grown. The Prime Minister has announced his resignation, the country is divided and the Government is in disarray. George Osborne has finally had to agree to ditch his job-destroying plan for a budget surplus, as Labour has been demanding. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/jeremy-corbyn-exclusively-reveals-hes-8335834

Vengeance of Pandas posted:I have a little sympathy for Cornwall Council after visiting their Facebook page last week, I doubt most of them voted to Leave since they were fully aware of exactly how much EU money has been invested in the area and according to them were restricted from actively campaigning but happy to provide the info to anyone who asked. Having said that they've got no loving chance, England and Wales have just effectively told the EU to gently caress off I'm not sure they have an obligation to pay a single penny of that investment money and the longer the UK continues to dick around about article 50 the less goodwill we'll have during the negotiation period, which will be focused on what best serves London and the Tory party's corporate masters anyway. Unless the EU was just acting tough they've already said we're getting gently caress all even after article 50. They've made it clear we've hosed up and are going to be made to pay. Which is why the tories acting tough is so amusing.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jul/02/corbyn-keeps-watson-arms-length graun's now running with the angle that Corbyn's a feeble, emotionally unstable old man who's being held hostage by John McDonnell and who could collapse at any second if Watson could just get him alone in a room for ten minutes without his handlers.

If he was willing to run that deep cover, couldn't he have persuaded them not to suicide the party at the single most crucial moment since the last general election, possibly since Blair went to war in Iraq...?

OvineYeast posted:n.b. you still shouldn't back him because he's a backstabbing traitor Yeah, I was going to say. The sure-fire, guaranteed way to not win the support of the membership who are still pro-Corbyn is to resign from Shadow Cabinet while saying "it's your fault you couldn't stop the Labour right from stabbing you in the back, front, sides, top & bottom". Maybe he would have been able to be a "unity" candidate, but fair or not, acting like he has done has just alienated an awful lot of Labour members.

If it's him he came within inches of getting ripped apart by hundreds of antiracists today. He was bundled into a taxi and people started blockading it in and trying to get the doors and windows open. The feds had to start wading in and battering people and the taxi got a police escort with blue lights just to get him out the city. I hope the fucker poo poo himself. E: i believe there can be an appropriate time and place for provocative and transgressive humour. That time and place is not at an antiracist or refugee and migrant solidarity march in this country at this exact moment. The atmosphere is incendiary enough as is.
