For what it's worth, that's a fund that invests in commercial property, not residential property - its investors want to sell because they're anticipating a recession that will reduce demand for things like office space, not housing.

Won't that indirectly reduce demand for housing? Less offices = Less people in the capital with jobs = less demand for residential property ?

At some point Corbyn has to come out and defend his leadership himself, rather than having momentum blame the blairites hiding behind the door for everything.

Yes, Blairites can be pretty bad, but Corbyn needs to justify, well Corbynims, rather than vague platitudes about how 'nice' and 'honest' he is. Maybe Corbyn is a secret Blairite. We have no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes!

Except it is literally the Blairites fault. I know how weird this is for a politician, but Corbyn is busy doing his actual job instead of taking part in a pissing contest for imaginary faults. He's defending his leadership by actually being a leader and trying to help the people he represents instead of joining the backstabathon scramble for political power at the expense of the rest of the country.

To make him defend himself first one of their accusations has to be actually true, otherwise he quite reasonably won't bother. The worst thing you can do when arguing with the right is get drawn into their pace, that leads straight to semantics hell and they will never be satisfied with anything anyone says and will blur the issues until it's all just a meaningless poo poo-flinging contest.

At any rate, regardless what causes what, I reckon a lot of property investors are understandably spooked. I wouldn't be surprised if prime property utterly collapsed in the next few months, but that's just speculation from me.

Something presumably a lot of them feel they could do better with somebody else leading the party they're a member of.

An MP's job is to represent their constituents - a Labour MP's job is to work with the party, represent its members, to form a unified Opposition and push the party's agenda forward. A shadow cabinet member's job is specifically to work with the leader who appointed them, handling policy and presenting and arguing it against the government

None of these things involve MPs doing what they want because they hate losing and hate who their membership elected, or throwing their toys out of the pram by constantly damaging the party and giving it bad press to suit their own personal aims. But they do it because they feel like lords of their own little manor, safe in their position and power. If they were under threat of deselection by the membership for their actions, they sure as hell wouldn't be loving around like they are

Green in the GE because I live in a safe Labour seat and wanted them to keep their deposit, don't really see the point in throwing my vote away. Would vote for them in a system where it actually mattered though.

Unless you mean the last election full stop in which case yes I voted labour.

No, Middlesbrough South. Tom's majority is narrower than Ashok's was but it's still a solid labour seat. I imagine I'll have to vote Labour in the next GE though if things continue.

And I'm a member of the Labour party, not the green party. Milliband was not terribly impressive and MPs have to be made to listen, unfortunately.
