The yarn kirby games and the clay one are the only ones I can think of besides yarn yoshi, but I get what he means, Nintendo leans real hard on pushing out games for their mascots and their consoles probably would not survive nearly as long or well without so much reliance on them.Help Im Alive posted:IIRC Aonuma said you can go fight ganondorf right from the beginning if you really want He did say that but there is no way that's actually true in a "you can finish the game" way. You can go fight ganondorf right from the beginning, and be forced to lose so that you have to play the game the right way, is probably closer to the truth.

I am still annoyed by that name edit: To sum up how annoying the name is, when I listed mine on SA Mart to sell it, I had to put "NEW 3DS XL" in the thread title because that's what it is, but then I had to go on to specify that it was not a new NEW 3DS, it was a used NEW 3DS. A problem that could have been avoided by just calling the game system something normal

finished off shantae and the pirates curse tonight. interesting departure from risky's revenge. traded in the metroidvania structure of the world for more of a mega man style stage-based structure with hidden power ups along the critical path. got rid of the multi layered foreground/background maps. amped up the difficulty considerably in terms of traversal challenges, bosses, and enemy placements. i hope the newest game later this year is as good as the previous two and keeps innovating.

I actually backed Half-Genie Hero way before I'd even played a single Shantae game. Went on to play Risky's Revenge halfway through last year and wasn't thrilled with it, but saw the appeal. Then I got Pirate's Curse and was just blown away by how great it was. I can't recommend Pirate's Curse enough- it definitely does overdo it on the tit imagery at times, but the game is so much fun I give it a pass. I'm partially disappointed to be going back to playing Shantae as a genie in HGH, but I think WayForward will make it more fun than Risky's Revenge. Pirate's Curse's pirate attacks were balanced so well that I'd almost prefer to continue with those attacks. Thankfully, it looks like Risky Mode will allow for that, to an extent.

Congrats on your run cjacobs!  I didnt know you did speedrunning. Speedrunning is something I've been wanting to get into but I dont think I am good enough at games to warrant messing around with it, tho I know one game at least that I think I could play but idk
