I'll forever associate this game with melted McDonalds vanilla milkshakes because when I played it I'd just gotten my wisdom teeth out It has some cool graphics and moments, but the gameplay isn't as fun as DKC2's.

it's good when you don't have races of games where you can lose immediately...also preferable to have races like that with more than 2 people *insert that Super Metroid clip here*

I'm trying to fit GDQ into my research as well. I study pedagogy in interaction design. I have a crackpot theory about studying how speedrunners manage to memorize entire games, and learn how to speedrun a game. Especially epically long games like RPGs. That might have to wait until I'm tenured somewhere though.

I know for me personally, getting spoiled might even increase my enjoyment because I hear stuff like "oh yeah that character dies" and it makes me wonder "how on earth do they get into that situation".

man these boss fights are the x-factors for this run edit: also regarding spoilers even though the title for FYAD was "Han dies" for like a whole month I still didn't realise it was real until I was sitting in the theatre for TFA. But that might be more because I thought FYAD was taking the piss so I didn't think it was a real spoiler. gave me an interesting reaction in the theatre though "oh, oh, OH HOLY poo poo THAT WAS TRUE?!?! So why are they doing different versions when one has a trick that makes it clearly faster? Is the guy running Japanese just terrible and the other guy offered him a handicap?

Why the gently caress is the TGM exhibition being shown at 1 in the afternoon? It's a huge hit with people, and by not making it the prime Main Event for tomorrow I feel like they're going to lose a lot of donations.

The Isaac race was bad, but that race on the unreleased indie game was even worst.
