I just read about that, but since you just meet his hubby and daughter without any other mention, any gay sex being had is purely in your imagination. I imagine gay sex is in your imagination quite often, though.

I hope they included the antennae on Troi's space vag. Betazoid slits are like brainwave wifi, so they need antennae to better work through walls and in the basement.

In JJ's Trek future, do you think that Sulu's hubby was able to conceive and carry their child? Male pregnancy being official canon would be most fanfic writers dream come true.

Yeah but he has to birth the kid from his rear end like Kes but rear end muscles don't snap back like cooze muscles do, so most guys still adopt.

Now all I can think about is Bob loving Jimmy Pesto.

It's surprisingly easy to find in it's entirety online. Sadly, Bob isn't paunchy enough and the restaurant layout is wrong. Also I refuse to believe Linda has bolt-on tits.

Hey, look. Look, if- if you screw me on this, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine, you rat bastard!
I've been going through random Voyager episodes, and I've actually really liked them. Not great, but they're as good as good Trek. But I think I've figured out a trick that works most of the time when looking through the episode descriptions:

-If it's a plot that seems like it could have been written as a TOS episode, it might be okay to watch. If you could imagine the story being transplanted with the TOS characters, it's good.
-If it feels like it couldn't be a TOS episode and revolves way too much around the characters or setting of Voyager, it won't be good.
-Notable exception: Year of Hell. Too much a Voyager-centric plot, but somehow great.

Year of Hell feels like it really compresses and amps up and elevates the sort of thing Voyager could have been from its initial concept to set it apart from the rest of Trek. Also, at the end of the day, there's a reset button that makes it into an imaginary/fanfic story vibe that lets them go crazy with whatever they want to do. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, it does sort of move by too quick, but there's something to it I sort of liked.

It feels like it should have been VOY's BoBW. Just like Q foreshadows the immense danger of the Borg, timeslipping Kes mentions YoH and the people lost to it.

But instead of committing an entire year to a good premise, they make it a two-parter in the middle of the season? And the reset kills whatever consequences could have happened .

Wasn't that story conceived of as being a whole season?

The only downside to doing a full season of Year of Hell would be that if you're hitting that reset button with zero repercussions, you've wasted the audiences time, maybe. A half-season Year of Hell that sort of pulled a stunt that they're still dong some of the stuff that they would have during Year of Hell, but for the second half now we're seeing it from the perspective of how different their interactions are due to the fixed timeline. An excuse to reuse costumes, make-up effects, sets, effects, etc.

That seems like just as much a waste.

Like, if Kes was supposed to get written off, why not have her be the first casualty of the TimeLords? Now they know they're in for poo poo and don't have a convenient roadmap. At the end, you're left with a Voyager that's cemented some Proto-fed alliance, an altered model for the ship to reflect the patchwork fixes, and maybe some avenues for future character development.

Which serves as a better foil for when they meet Captain Badass and the starship U.s.s. Alien Juicers.
