Is there a good tennis game on the Vita?

Preferably one where you like have a dude that gets money and levels up with it and that kinda thing

Yes, Virtua Tennis 4 World Tour. It was a launch title and is still one of the best games on the system imo.

Freedom Wars is a weird game where the middle is the strongest part. The start of the game is an infamous slog of story scenes and boring fights, while the endgame is an endless grind that shows you how little content unique content Freedom Wars has compared to similar games in the genre, but most of the 'story' of the game is at least worth playing. And yes, the crafting is a crime against humanity, and you'll probably need to dip into it in order to keep up with the power curve before you're done.

I can't talk much about GE:R, but Soul Sacrifice Delta is a much better game on just about every level if the game's aesthetic and different approach to 'equipment' doesn't chase you off. Unless you're doing a lot of multiplayer, I would avoid doing every mission- the name of the Pacts is 'filler' and while most of the missions at low ranks in SSD are short there's also a million of them. I'd only dip into the additional pacts area if you feel like you need the power boost to do the available story/faction pacts or there's some new bosses you want to fight in them.

Pacts are only really good to grind out specific enemies and you don't have to do the low level ones to unlock the high level ones.

The factikn you pick doesn't effect anything important besides how you get bonus loot at the end of the level so just choose whatever.

I was definitely interested in IA/VT Colorful back when it was announced/released but didn't really like the idea of paying import prices for a non Miku vocaloid game where I don't know any of the songs. I guess it must be cheaper by now though, I haven't checked since release

I've never played any of the Taiko games. I know someone that imported the Wii version and had the neat drum controller - I wasn't sure what the portable ones on Vita/3DS would be like without that

Good to hear, and thanks for the advice.. I picked up Soul Sacrifice Delta when it was cheap last month so I'll give that a shot before I try God Eater.

At this rate, I probably won't end up playing GE:R at all unless I preorder the PS4 version of GE2RB which is less likely with the imminent release of the new 3DS Monster Hunter game and me needing to play SSD still. Too many hunting games, too little time.

Chi You gets clowned on pretty good with a decent shotgun, imo. As fast as he seems to be, pretty much every GOD EATER is more maneuverable under any circumstance.

I don't recommend hammers against them, use the greatswords if you want a good crushing melee weapon for the birds. You can land solid hits on their head more consistently. Once you get the ability to air-devour, you can stay airborne almost indefinitely with a single vertical air attack -> devour -> air attack ->. When/if you stun Chi You, you can pull this off on it with near impunity until it recovers, a good way to build up bullets you can use to super charge allies.

It turns out the easier solution was just rolling with Alisa, Tatsumi, and Annette or Federico, so monsters get buried in an avalanche of buff bullets and heal posts. Those four can keep you in Burst 3 for an entire mission, it's dope.

Of course now rank 5 Vajras are giving me grief.

Valkyre Drive: Bhikkhuni Will not be Censored for the West PQube Explains

I can confirm that Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni will be brought to the west in its original form, with content completely intact. It will be with a Japanese dub and English subtitles.

We generally don’t take on these kinds of projects if we’re not confident we can release it in the west without cutting or changing content. Changing the source material kind of defeats the purpose of doing it in the first place, so that is not something we even consider unless we literally have no other options. In terms of platform holders and ratings boards, you’d be surprised what you can get away with. Gal*Gun: Double Peace passed quite painlessly for example.

Where issues might arise in terms of publishing, is selling the title in to retailers who might be hesitant to take it. A game doesn’t just appear at retailers when we release it; a big part of the process is to go around and sell the title to each individual retailer and negotiate numbers and prices. Trying to present a game like Valkyrie Drive to a group of executives at a major retailer, who might be in their 50’s and don’t play or particularly care about games, and convince them that Valkyrie Drive is amazing and would do really well on their shelves or their website, can be quite the challenge for the sales team.

TMS Hashtag FE is better than Persona 4 Golden, and people are fighting tooth and nail to make sure you can eventually pirate a "perfect" version when the Wii U finally gets fully hacked in the next year or so.

So with the VD announcement, discussion got a little heated up on XSEED's forums and Tom came out to explain some things

quote:

"Port-spamming and placing the safest bets"? Ahem? Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity? Xanadu Next? Trails of Cold Steel II *and* Trails in the Sky the 3rd? Akiba's Beat? Fate/Extella? Exile's End? Freakin' SHANTAE?! (OK, so Shantae is a safe bet, but I mean, come on, how could we NOT publish Shantae? And what about ANY of those other games constitutes a "safe bet"?)

We currently have one of our best lineups we've EVER had since I joined XSEED six years ago, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sorry if the games we're offering for 2016 don't interest you personally, but there's far from a lack of variety here, far from an overabundance of ports, and far from a lack of anything good to play. We've got a little something for everybody here.

Terro messaged me with some of these concerns, so I figured I'd pop in and help assuage them. We have not "changed our policies." We haven't actually done anything differently than ever before. We always choose our offerings very carefully, and we always try to offer the best content possible. Sometimes, other publishers get games that one might typically consider to be "sure things for XSEED," and when that happens, we wish them all the best, and strongly encourage you to buy their products. We're not competing with PQube or Aksys or Mastiff or anyone else -- they're our colleagues, and their good fortune is the industry's good fortune. We also haven't given up on Vita, given up on risque gaming, given up on Falcom, OR given up on Marvelous first-party titles. Far from it.

We're just random and unpredictable. Just when you think you have us pegged down... BAM. We come out of left field with something new.

That's just how we roll, yo. ;)

And sooner or later, we'll release something else you're interested in. It's inevitable!

-Tom
