It's amazing how much the 3%ers like to hype up even the most deskjobby military service

My brother did serve in active combat duty for a few months, but the overwhelming majority of his military service was as a quartermaster, gassing up humvees and issuing uniforms. The way he talks about it you would think he was in loving delta force, lol

Also don't take this the wrong way, I don't condone or support anything these two murderers did, but they've done a better job openly rebelling against the US government by themselves than the entire III%'er movement. I wonder if the nuance of this actually registers with any of the bundy clan or their fanboys, that some black guys are doing a better job at inciting Civil War 2 than they ever have.

I know it doesn't but it's fun to think about!

It's also important to note that the intelligence test bare minimum score requirement is lower for 'bulk fuel specialists' than for the infantry grunt. Back in my day it was 35 on the ASVAB for infantry, 30 for fuel, waiverable up from 25. If you can tie your shoes consistently, you can score a 35.

Keep in mind also that these test books have dumb as gently caress multiple choice questions, and usually have the correct answer circled already by a previous test taker, or more likely the recruiter trying to meet his quota. IIRC in the heat of the surge they could waiver you up from 20 to get warm bodies into uniform.

I doubt it. Then you would have to explain why Cliven Bundy and his loser sons are sitting in jail after a horribly failed takeover while two incidences of black shooters has racked a bodycount. Which is downright ghoulish, but it does make white sovcits look like even bigger losers.

Not saying that rightwingers won't do it, but it'll be funny to see them justify how inferior they are to black people, which will make their blood pressure skyrocket.

The closest Ammon ever came to actually fighting the feds was crashing an ATV into a truck and chucking rocks at BLM employees.

Some of that might have been Pete Santilli, though.

I get the feeling they didn't charge him because this is such a stupid plan. Plus, how the gently caress is he going to disappear? He's kinda recognizable from having his face in the papers for the incident.

He probably would have vanished down thr fundamentalist Mormon wormhole that Lyle Jeffs is hiding out in right now. Those shitheads like to protect their own. Of course his plan likely never would have succeeded because Ryan doesn't live in a cartoon or a Hardy Boys novel.

It makes him sound like some kind of square-jawed pulp serial action hero. Like, the jailers would just be all "Well, that is a known rancher tradition, I guess you can go ahead with it." and then he'd pull the window bars out of the crumbling mortar, escape out the window in the middle of the night, and head into the depths of the jungle, where he'd hollow out a fallen tree to make a kayak, and pole himself upriver. There, he would rescue a beautiful (white) woman from being sacrificed at an ancient temple by a bunch of savage (black, possibly mesoamerican) natives. He'd also fight off their god (who would probably be a giant snake or something) using rancher ingenuity.

I listened to an interview Ryan Bundy's wife gave a while back... She shared how he loved to do things, never staying idle... tinkering, fixing, maintaining his family. Sounds like that's what he was doing in jail... just being himself, where he was at. The gov't is trying to call that a flight risk? >>Do they give him anything to do in jail? Is he starving? Is it pure torture? Sounds like "the authorities" are treating the political prisoners worse than animals! ...Also, if the gov't case is built on false narratives and lies, it will fail, even in our "legal" system. >>We all saw what happened, the ranchers and their friends weren't trying to hide anything or threaten anyone. In fact, they were asking for help, from the sheriff, and anyone that wanted to seek aid for the Hammonds and other ranchers/farmers! >>>In addition... it's a shame the Bundys are chained up, because they could probably RUN THE JAIL ... respectfully, a whole lot better than its being humanely managed today!

quote:

The Federal Government does NOT have the ability to issue "lawful orders", where State and/or private property illegally claimed by federal agencies is concerned.

"While I find they do not pose a risk of fleeing the country, I find their participation in the
armed standoff in Nevada and the fact that they condoned the use of an arsenal of weapons at the
Malheur Wildlife Refuge demonstrate they believe they are justified in refusing lawful federal
orders. Furthermore, they believe that placing an armed force between officials seeking to
enforce lawful orders and themselves is justified by their interpretation of the Constitution."

THIS IS THE VERY DEFINITION OF FEDERAL OVERREACH.

The State is complicit, as they are allowing this to happen.

By the way, I don't know if the "aborted escape attempt" is based in fact, or is yet another red herring, designed to portray Ammon Bundy in a negative light...however...they ARE political prisoners...which makes them "Prisoners of War".

AS such, I am reminded of the following oath...

" III

If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy." - http://www.au.af.mil/.../awc.../readings/code_of_conduct.htm

They're prisoners of war, so they're allowed to try and escape and no one can hold it against them because something something patriots.

red19fire

They should have let him make the rope so maybe he could hang himself.

Of course these dum dums are conflating political prisoners and prisoners of war. And of course these non-com's, draft dodgers and cowards feel they need to abide by a military code of conduct.

Of course they ignore the earlier parts of that code.

Code of Conduct for Members of the United States Armed Forces posted:

I. I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
II. I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.
III. If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.
IV. If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.
V. When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause
VI. I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
