We found one of these contraptions rigged up in the attic of my fraternity house. Apparently, someone put it together in the early 2000's, decided it was unsafe, and just left it there with a sticky note that said 'no' on it.

Then come 2007 or so iirc, someone found it, saw the sticky note, ignored it, and tried to chop down a tree branch with it. Predictably the blade bounced, and he sliced open his upper arm to the bone and he nearly died.

Of course, the response wasn't to get rid of the thing, instead they attached a sticky note which said 'NO, gently caress NO' to it, and left it for the next person to find, which sat until 2012 or so when someone finally took it apart if memory serves correctly.
