Yea, his platform in the election in 2016 had nothing to help poor black people. Income inequality is only half of black people's problems. Where was he when BLM was starting up? It wasn't in Alabama. It wasn't in Mississippi. He made what. One, two? appearances?

Protip : tell them hydrocodine makes you sick. They will give you oxycodine which is much better. Have fun in the gutter!

They will probably only give you 8-12 pills max. You will probably not become a drug fiend from that sadly.

Trump is now ahead in the RealClearPolitics average of polls. There's nothing inevitable about a Clinton victory. You seem to think this is an intellectual exercise and not a battle for the literal future of the world.

At least give the post-convention bumps time to settle before predicting the end of times. But you're right, prior to the RNC his chances did increase, but Hil was still way ahead.

The protester's voices are part of the future of the world, which is actually my point. Accusing protesters of sabotaging an election because they don't agree with the party base plays into the narrative that you are in or you are an annoyance and shouldn't have a voice. I don't think that the party of progressive values should encourage that narrative because this is the process by which minority views are marginalized and under-represented.

Quorum posted:

There was a platform committee made up of members elected by their votes, and it achieved a lot. That it may not have achieved everything they wanted is the essence of democracy.

And I don't think it's sabotage; I think it will be ultimately inconsequential and nobody gives a poo poo in the long run. It's just gross and ugly, and reveals their inability to accept wins for what they are.

Well then we agree on the not-sabotage (and ultimate inconsequentiality) side of things. I don't agree that it's gross or ugly or about accepting wins. People want to be heard. And relying on entrenched systems- with notable, frequently cited innate inequality structures- to represent those people doesn't always work.

Opiods are great and very important medically and if you feel your pain is unmanageable without them you should use them carefully and safely! That's why I get so annoyed at the 'agh it's too easy to get them pain pills' answer, because that's the opposite of true and that actively hurts people!

True, you aren't here to persuade. You are just here to endlessly lecture everyone on how much better a person you are than everyone else and pretend to be persecuted when people don't agree with your condescending bullshit.

Sorry, you don't get to not be a petty piece of poo poo just because you're protesting something you earnestly believe in, and not necessarily even if it's a good thing. BOOing the nominee of your party, for example, could possibly be good if you earnestly believe they're a terrible person, but BOOing anyone remotely associated with her, a practice that seems to have fortunately become less common as the night has progressed, is frankly disgusting-- particularly when so many of them are people who have struggled through difficult circumstances to accomplish good in the world.
