are the same thing!

Fury Road is good, fun and probably one of the most cinematic action films of all time. But it has the message of "sexual slavery is a bad thing" and has a woman in it therefore bad.

I have not seen Ghostbusters(2016) but it is not Ghostbusters(1984) and is therefore bad. It's not even The Ghost Busters (TV, 1975).

It may not be misogyny talking but it takes a special kind of person to look at a movie with 97% positive reviews and say "nah it's objectively bad".

This is not appeal to majority either, it's saying that if you stand yourself that starkly athwart overwhelming popular and critical consensus without even saying something self-aware like "Here is an opinion which I realize is probably not shared by many, but I feel it strongly", it makes everyone assume you're speaking as a crank.

I didn't give detailed reasons, because I didn't expect this to turn into a big debate. I said the movie sucks, which you can disagree with, and I said it's possible to dislike a movie without having some disgusting psychological flaw, which is axiomatically true.

The pacing sucked
They took two great actors - Theron and Hardy - then apparently told them not to accidentally do any acting, and just to be safe, gave them about twenty total words in the first six hours of the movie. I guess Tom Hardy grunting and shaking his head behind that stupid mask could count as acting if you're feeling generous.
How "good" a movie is has an inverse relationship with how many flamethrower-guitar-playing gimps are shown dangling from giant speaker mobiles.

Your argument is exactly argumentum ad populum. You literally said there's something wrong with me because 97% of people like thing, and I dislike thing. That's misleading, anyway. Viewer reviews give it a 4.2 out of 5, so a "B." You think it takes some sort of "special" person to look at a popular movie and say it sucks, but it's completely normal to assign psychological demons to people based on the fact that they didn't like a popular action flick?

I think Fury Road sucked, and it has nothing to do with the movie not hating women hard enough. The assertion that the only way you could dislike this movie is if you're a misogynist piece of poo poo is just dumb, and is what I was arguing against.

Minimal dialogue is good.

Arnheim sort of had a point when he said sound (and by extension spoken dialogue) was a crutch for directors who couldn't tell a story through visuals. Sort of.

No, I was in fact trying to say something more specific than that. To rephrase: You can dislike it all you want, that's fine. And you may have valid reasons for it (which you've given now, great, thanks). It's just that if you stomp in and declaim the opposite of what the overwhelming consensus is and you don't give some acknowledgment that you're going against that consensus and that you've got good reasons for it that a sane person might accept, it doesn't make you wrong, but it does make you look like you're deliberately being ironic or edgy or a gimmick or something.

Uh, yeah, Mad Max doesn't speak a lot in the movie because that's the character. I think he's got even less dialogue in Mad Max 2. Also congrats on missing the great physical performances, I guess. Acting is more than just reading lines.

New Mad Max is a well made spectacle action movie, but I'm not entirely sure what makes people so defensive about it. It was a completely predictable 2 hour chase sequence with some quirky characters and paper thin plot. Also I hold no love for the franchise, so I'm not mad about them ruining my childhood or whatever.

Much like how a strong female character doesn't make a boring film good, not liking a boring film doesn't mean you must automatically hate it because of said character.

STRAIGHT TROPIN'

Just saw the MadMax 2015 movie in the theater… The first little bit was ok, and then it went all… Feminazi propaganda. 🙁

According to that movie:
MGTOWS are just really hosed up mentally insane men… and deep down aren’t really MGTOWS…
Men with power are corrupt bastards who hoard women as their property… and… are ugly 😛
And beta males ruled by the men with power are really just lonely and will die for a woman just because she is pretty.
women are all innocent even in the poo poo and caught red handed killing people… cause… it’s not there fault… and they plant flowers in skulls to save the world.
Women are better than men in everyway… Except for the crazy MGTOW guy who saves them; cause he loving owns everyone… except some how manages to struggle a when fighting a chick half his weight who has one arm… and needs the help of a random dude to pull a gun on her.

OH, and deep and meaningful relationships magically appear with a 1 night stand ( sex may or may not be involved )

BEWARE!!! It’s not a MGTOW Movie 🙁

Did i miss anything else?

Was kinda expecting it; cause its madmax… but… gently caress, didn’t expect it to be this bad and feminazi!

Edit: OK! its official, the world is now fully occupied by morons.
The movie got 9/10, while it was nothing but 1 big long chase scene. W0W
