It looks a lot like you're stepping on the breaks while in the air and if the car is in gear it will stall. In real life leaving the car in gear would let it start again as soon as you hit the ground just like pushing it down a hill in gear if your starter is broken. I've heard people complain that the game doesn't let the car restart for some reason.

I just bought the "Legend Edition" of DiRT and it came with an xbox live code for the Cooper S and Escort Mk II fully upgraded and liveries. I don't need it since I ended up getting the code from my library. Does anyone else want it?

Did people say they wanted a league? Well how about this? THE DIRTYGOONS GLOBETROTTER LEAGUE 4 rallies, each with 6 stages. Event restarts are enabled, service areas and setup changes are every 2 stages. Oh, and every stage is in a different country. You have a full set of Group A and Group B (both 4WD and RWD) cars to choose from. Then there's a 5th special event run of the full mixed surface Pikes Peak course. The league season is active from 11am BST so good luck!

So i watched some youtubes of people showing their controller settings and 90% sensitivity and 40% linearity basically makes the game feel 100 times better for me. Ive immediately gained 3+ places in clubman rallies, which then put me in the top 3 for the championship, and finished all 6 races with less than 10% damage on my radiator (usually every race I would severly gently caress my radiator) this is my dirt rally controller setup success story.

Played Dirt Rally on my Vive via ReVive, and it is the only way to play this game. It's too bad even with my GTX 1080 I had to lower the graphics to flipping MEDIUM though.

Yeah I've been playing the poo poo out of dirt rally again ever since getting a vive and wheel set up. Restarted my whole career because I was up to professional in my last career using an xbox controller and it didn't feel right using the same one. Last time I played the game Finland wasn't even added. Holy poo poo those stages are a hell of a ride even in the 1960s cars. "crest jump crest crest crest jump right 4 crest".

Yeah Wales used to be my favourite because I love me some sweeping gravel curves, but Finland is just a whole 'nother level. Preempting a turn just before a jump so you can land and take in stride feels so drat good.

My favorite thing in the entire game is that one rally that ends with a bunch of turns that go through water splashes. There's one that's like a splash through a blind turn as you wipe your windows right into a gate. Also as cheesy as it is, putting huge crowds at the end of a long endurance race makes it more exciting.

I'm sure glad they added rallyx to dirt rally because I would not have wanted more interesting and enjoyable rally stages in their place. No I would not ! Hopefully they are developing a new rally game instead of DLC because I would loving love more rally stages.

I started doing much better at this game when I turned the hud off; I realised that I was trying to make up for bad segments by going too fast and it ended up hurting my time. I still have the calls on though, I mostly don't need them but I've noticed that sometimes the audio doesn't trigger so I keep them there just in case).

I use the distance bar on the left to give me basic knowledge of how my splits are, but that's all. I too hate having too much info on screen.

I keep it on because anytime a split flashes red numbers on my screen I start driving way crazier than I normally would. also.....  the 875HP Peugot is today's online daily event. Try it for free!

The one thing I'd like with the HUD off is a button I can press to get the co-driver to read out how many meters to finish. Other than that, also happily no-HUD in-cockpit view 4lyfe.

It's basically capturing one eye's view, and I crop 200px off the top and bottom (raw it's 1200 tall by 1080 wide). Unfortunately you miss out on some of the horizontal fov my right eye sees, and I don't think I can even get a mirror of that. And if I did, I'd have to combine the two eyes and there would be a visible seam where they meet since they're rendering different viewports. Been thinking I might crop even more off the top and bottom to get a 16:9 view, then layer the telemetry stuff with opacity to make it less distracting.

I always love seeing the cabin cam in amongst the dash cam. they go from Driving At Warp Speed then cut to 2 gentlemen out on a casual sunday drive. meanwhile Im over here leaning into corners and tilting my controller left and right going NO NO NO NO NO

Its a shame that WRC has an on demand online service because they used to put lengthy onboard vids up on their youtube, now its just 1min trash highlights. edit: I always assumed it was all pay gated but maybe its not. Im watching some onboards on the wrc+ site without even needing to login which is cool. edit2: Guess it gives you a timed demo because its back behind a paywall again. I pretty much only drive the 2010 fiesta because its like old underwear now, nothing else fits right. Had been using a tuning profile by "job3k" for quite a while. First time testing out a different one by "franconen" shaved 4 seconds off my old PB despite loving up a bunch including spinning out and frequently using the wrong gear. Pretty stoked to still get 124th so I recorded it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX8_aiBMHzI Might have to try running one stage over and over to see if I can get down to top 50, dunno if I have the patience because I mostly just hop on for a stage or two before I start pushing too hard and ragequit.
