Khazrak and the Doom Bull have some really good support chains, also the Bull has some chains that lock other skills, so you now must choose, for example you can get a 2-kill chain that improve army ambush and leadership or recruit costs and xp for recruits, not both. Also just fighted an ambush against an imperial army more or less equal my numbers, had 3/4 in my favor of autoresolve, all basic units, fighted it manually and got a phyrric victory, nearly wiped out. drat, beastmen suffer a lot in long grinding battles.

Mutually exclusive skills for the Minotaur heroes is really neat, wish they'll expand on stuff like that to make leveling more interesting. Also holy poo poo minotaurs are strong

Okay, so I just fired up a Beastmen custom battle and I wish I had saved the replay, because I don't know what the gently caress happened. I did a simple Empire (AI) versus me as the Beastmen. I gave them a standard army, 3 Hellstorm Rocket Batteries and 1 Amber Wizard. I had about 6 Ungor Spears w/ Shields and 4 Bestigors as my main line. The Amber Wizard flew over on his griffin, and while I was paying attention to another part of the battle I had noticed my line evaporated. 5 units completely wiped out without routing, almost instantaneously. I hovered over them before they evaporated and saw the 'Flock of Doom' damage/debuff spell at the last second, I can't remember if it was overcasted. The main line was getting peppered with rockets at the same time, so I don't know if they destroyed the health of my units? Did the rocket batteries get buffed? I've tested the spell multiple times just now (both standard and overcasted) and did not get nearly as much damage as the AI did (unless they resisted every attempt, it does have a 'High' chance to be resisted). Let me know if you guys find anything weird with Flock of Doom, gonna go toy around with it some more. peer posted:The beastmen variant of Chaos Spawn look cool/gross The little bull tails sprouting from their heads (do Chaos Spawn have heads?) are adorable and disgusting.

Can anyone say what the recruitment requirements are for the other legendary lord you don't pick at the beginning? Also, kind of sad we didn't get the Kholek-styled Brass Bull legendary lord for beastmen. He seems like he would be peak shitwrecker.

The Gorebull and Minotaurs are hysterical with the blood DLC. The Gorebull just loving cannon balled into a unit of swordsmen. We're talking a full blown sprinting belly flop that had him skidding on the ground and kicking up a ridiculous storm of gore everywhere. It was like watching a cannonball plow through a unit in Napoleon. Then it got up and swung it's axe and caused like seven guys to just explode. Top notch animations either way. Their animations are so over the top that they border on being comical. Archonex fucked around with this message at 16:01 on Jul 28, 2016 |

Well based on a quick 45 minutes before work, Estalia, Tilea, and the Border Princes definitely won't be conquering everything anymore.

So my brayherd mechanic seems to be broken on the grand campaign. Every time if fill the meter it drops back down to just below the "generate herd" bar without and unit/popup. Hmmm.

I feel like a Minotaur goring through a line of Imperial swordsmen as they scream "The Gods have abandoned us!" is the purest distillation of TW:W.

Is there an option to select the mini campaign when hosting a multi-player campaign? What's the minicampaign like anyway? drat work I wish I could play!

Okay, it seems they didn't actually enable DX12 for the 960m like they said they did in the patch notes. It's still greyed out for me. What the gently caress.

Some of the beastmen campaign mechanics are super strong, the Dark Moon phase that fully replenish your army for two turns at the cost of growth is beastly if you manage to time it after a tough fight, like a siege. Also, due to the nature of the terrain in the mini-campaign you can do a lot of fuckery, like luring out several enemy armies protecting a settlementent, because they are stronger than you they will chase you a lot through the narrow snaking roads of the forest, then you can use the best paths to mover over the terrain back to the settlement and raze it before the enemy comes back. My only complaints so far are that minotaurs get shredded by auto-resolve, as always, and attrition caused by chaos corruption is super weak, only kills like one soldier per regiment and it's completely negated by replenishment.

I'm determined not to use auto-resolve once in the mini-campaign. I'm way too reliant on it.

Deified Data posted:I'm determined not to use auto-resolve once in the mini-campaign. I'm way too reliant on it. Yeah, I feel the same way. I was looking up random youtubers playing beastmen before it was released and one of them recommended this mod which essentially makes the AI 100% stronger in autoresolve: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=705086465 You can still autoresolve the stompier battles but I no longer feel like I'm being incentivized to skip the entire battle part of the game.

AI cheats at attrition. It takes 30% less attrition damage on easy and on Very Hard it's something like 80% attrition resistance. There was a workshop mod to set that attrition resistance to 30% at all difficulties since the AI is pretty about needlessly marching through attrition zones and needs a little bit of a cheat in that regard.

Spamming the heck out of ungor archers isn't the world's worst idea to start (because ungor spearmen are garbage). Bonus: being beastmen, they have an easy time zipping around to the enemy flank.

Anyone have had this before? Archeon shows up but the advisor box has no button to press to have him gently caress off. It's completely stuck, turning off mods doesn't work, reloading from older saves gives the same thing every time.

Some things I noticed regarding customizing Heroes and Lords: - Most melee oriented Heroes and some Lords can buy health potions for around 60 gold. There are two health potions availabile, so for about 120g you can heal your Hero/Lord back to full from the brink of death twice. - Dwarf Lords have no access to potions, but can buy a Fire Breath ring. Cooldown seems way too long to be useful, doesn't do much damage. - Runesmiths can buy more passive runes, one which reduces missile damage in his vicinity by 20%. The Dwarf star strengthens. - Exalted Heroes also have no access to potions, and get a lovely Banner (-6 Missile Parry) and Mark of Khorne instead. - The new Amber Wizards have no access to any items, every other caster Lord/Hero can buy useful scrolls. Maybe a balance choice because he can ride a fabulous Jade Griffin?

So on the mini campaign I've completed all the ultimate objectives except confederate 2 factions. Every single settlement is razed, and all of the beastmen tribes are my allies, and they all love me, but they reject my gifts and all offers of confederation. Can I force them into confederacy or am I just hosed?

# ? Jul 28, 2016 17:28 |

you can force people to confederate after beating the snot out of them in a war too, so maybe try that

Confederations are almost entirely on the balance of power bar, knock down their armies so you have like a 10:1 military strength ratio, and they'll give in.
