The first game was quite good. As I recall, the second game was made by a different developer and was not nearly as well received, at least in part because it added nothing to the first game mechanically and had awful writing.

Just want to comment that this is actually really faithful to the original game. The rules are available online as they were all released by GW some time back for the specialist games. You can get most of the rules online as the interface might throw you off at first if you aren't use to what is what. I'm enjoying the hell out of this game and I'm actually looking at getting some of the old ships if I can find them :/ This game is that drat good. Best Specialist game hands down

If anyone liked Egg, Inc or was looking for other actually good idle games that don't involve a retarded amount of tapping I can recommend Abyssrium. It's a pretty simple adcap-esque aquarium themed incremental without any particularly interesting mechanics aside from social integration nonsense but it's really beautiful and atmospheric. Fell asleep last night listening to the music. Offline progression, collect pretty fish and take pictures of them.

Hey Nimblebit people, if you're still lurking, possible bug in Tiny Tower: moving a bitizen gifted from another player into a gilded apartment floor does not set their stats to max. If that's intended, I wish there was at least a hint of it somewhere so I didn't have to find out by kicking out an all 9's bitizen in the first place to make room! Also on the topic of documentation, I wish it was mentioned somewhere that resetting your tower does NOT reset your elevator speed. I was really dreading it because it only says you keep cosmetic unlocks and bux. Very relieved to find out I wasn't going back to the awful, slow elevator.

By my calculations it will take 110 hours to get 50 million chickens, though at least I already have 19 I guess. I like this game but it looks like there's just this vertical wall to nowhere at this point in the game and I hope they add more content to it soon.

I'm now on Tachyon eggs and only have half a dozen remaining things with upgrades and it's so slow, I have to actively tap drones to actually make any money to buy upgrades that make basically no difference. Or wait a day to get more chickens to get money faster. Prestiging will only give me ~600 eggs which is a ~40% bonus so it's not worth it. It mights be thousands of percent over base but I'm not at base. I'm not sure what the point is once you reach Tachyon eggs anyway, maybe I'm expected to quit at this point. Also the dev never refunded my piggy bank purchase because he is a massive dick, so I don't know why I'm still "playing" to be honest.

Yeah the bitizen thing is intended to make it more challenging to max your tower with 99999 bitizens. It would be trivial if you could max out a gifted one. I wish we had even more space for text to explain rebuilding although I doubt people would take the time to read everything. M

Anyone playing Score! Hero? It's basically a soccer puzzle game where you have to pass and shoot your way to victory. It's pretty fun, though there are some odd difficulty walls that I get stuck at after breezing through 10 levels before. Currently stuck on 155. Also gives me an appreciation for soccer players.

I wound up buying a MOGA Hero A - I'll provide a trip report afterwards if anyone is interested. I already know the clip won't hold my phone in the center because the clip will push the power/volume buttons, but I'm hoping the controller itself is responsive.

I know I'm late to Egg Inc. but is anyone else having problems where you watch the video but it doesn't give you the bonus? It's always the ones with a "earn one coin" button I might be hitting the vertical wall anyway because I can't afford upgrades to my double semis and I'm at tier 7 or so tech and I can't research transpo in more than tiny increments.

Yeah, I've been enjoying it for the past week or so. I think I'm about as far as you are. The difficulty walls are killing it for me , though. The levels where you need to score 3+ goals without making a mistake are pretty clearly designed to annoy you into paying for energy. I'd happily pay $5 for an unrestricted version , but like $2 for 24 hours of unlimited play is dumb.

Something that has depth, takes only short bursts of time and ideally is competitive? Have you tried Tap Titans? It's the only incremental/idle game I've played with a competitive element. It plays a lot like Clicker Heroes but there are regular tournaments where you have to outdo people in your tournament group and you get good rewards for it. It may take some intense playing to place in the top of your group, but it's not too bad, and you're up against a reasonably sized group of people so the supernerds and cheaters don't ruin the fun.

Sextro posted:I'm bored of clash royale and tap tycoon is my go to idle/clicker. What's another game to take clash's spot. Something that has depth, takes only short bursts of time and ideally is competitive? I was browsing blindly through the Play app and found ReRunners. It's a game where you run through 2D levels that remind me of Sonic the Hedgehog, but instead of stomping robots you are racing other real-life players. The aim for each race/level is a high score, which comes from a combination of low time, coins collected, finishing before other players, and blowing up other players during the race. I'm not sure if the other people you're racing against are ghosts of other players, or if they are actual live players. Either way it seems to work pretty well, although I've run into connection bugs a few times. There are two main race modes: one seems like more of a story mode, while the "arena" mode seems more like a competitive mode that uses some kind of ranking system for matchmaking (I didn't confirm this though). Ranks seem to work similar to Hearthstone, where you start out with a high number and each calendar month is a "season". There are several upgrade systems overlaid upon your character, such as better run/jump skills and upgradeable active abilities. There is also an energy system. These upgrade systems are loosely coupled with the F2P cash shop but I don't know how grindy the later upgrades get, nor how generous they are with giving out gems. The upgrades themselves don't cost gems, but you can use gems to buy the coins that do go toward the upgrades, and you can use gems to bypass the upgrade timers. In addition to the race levels, there are many large "overworld" levels to wander around in, and I feel like the combination of these two types of levels, plus the aesthetics and NPCs, make the game feel much bigger and more polished than many mobile games. These levels spawn you in a big explorable area, with several things you can do. One is to collect coins and fruit; fruit gives you XP to level up (unlocks things) and it also decreases your energy timer if you don't have full energy. Each overworld level also has a number of stars in it: stars are what unlock more race levels, and you gain them from good scores in race levels or from completing ever-more-tricky platforming challenges in overworld levels. They also have lots of NPCs you can talk to. And speaking of NPCs, I have to say that the aesthetics of the game are wacky and fun. The graphics and character designs seem like they were designed by someone raised on a steady diet of 80s and 90s cheery platform games, and grafted this style together with the weird monsters and goofy humor of cartoons like Adventure Time. The pixel art looks good on my phone but would probably be fantastic on a tablet. The dialogue is even somewhat funny and clever in places. For example, every time you die in an overworld level, you quickly respawn at a safe platform near where you died...but not before being subjected to a half-assed fortune cookie "tip" by a wannabe Grim Reaper who pops up on the screen. Overall, I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I keep wondering if I'm going to hit a paywall, or if botters will figure out how to cheese the arena leaderboards, but for now I am having a fun time with it.

Don't buy this. I'm using a Nexus 6P if it matters. It's a shame, too, because while the buttons are stiff, the shoulder pads are super stiff, and its too small for my giant hands, it still would have been fun enough for my trip to GenCon this week if the buttons didn't have massive latency. e: after googling some, I discovered a troubleshooting FAQ from 2013 that recommends turning off your wifi to improve latency, which it did! Still not sold on this as something to recommend to folks, but at least I'm going to be able to play some Zelda on the plane. Sigma-X fucked around with this message at 10:46 on Aug 2, 2016 |

I've been lately having a blast with Tracky Train. It's one of those games you control ala Snake a track layer and have to provide a route for your train to go around picking passengers and leaving them in stations. The graphics are cute, the sound design is fun and aside from the occasional lag, it honestly works well. There's currency in game and that's to buy more carriages and trains as the game follows. Adverts are for in case you don't wanna spend currency on two other tries (100 and 200 respectively on a run), and at some point you're getting so much currency that you're fine either way paying 300 coins per trip and just want to see what else comes by. You can get it here. Also, they recently updated that aquarium game so it no longer locks up on the opening at times, so in case you wanna give a shot at one of the better incremental based games, give it a shot now!
