The rise of the machines will be triggered when that thing goes apeshit because it can't the straw into it's juice box.

Does it bug anybody else when they put these lovely latex masks on robots to make it so "we will feel comfortable around them" but they just end up looking like CPR dummy abortions. I want my robots to look like badass robots not Resusci Anne.

I study technical neutral networks, AMA. They really aren't all that fancy. It just finds a highly nonlinear function by adjusting weights between inputs and layers. I like how whenever a robot does anything, everyone freaks out that robots are going to kill us all. Meanwhile humans consistently try to kill themselves and everyone around them and no one seems to care. "Kim Jon Un has nukes and the paranoia to use them, but whatever - did you see that robot that could open a door in under 25 minutes?!" Edit: But yeah, seriously, why does everyone slap creepy faces onto robots. It's like no one in robotics has ever heard of uncanny valley. Here's one of our robots: Why?... Why?... Germstore posted:It means he hasn't studied neural networks since recurrent neural networks became the new hotness. But recurrent neural networks are neural networks... They just have a context layer which feed off the output or hidden layers and feed it back into the hidden layer. They might be hot in some applications that have some temporal information, like natural language processing or maybe tracking, but I wouldn't say they are applicable to all problems.
