Well I've PMd a mod to see if they'd be cool with a thread soliciting donations etc. And I guess if they're ok it we can figure out in that thread what to do with anything it raises in excess of the cost. If it even makes enough to pay for the poll, that is.

The Matenwa fundraising was just a normal fundraiser, the 5 figures to permaban someone was to Japanese tsunami relief. Also, the goon funding to Matenwa was enough for them to get their publishing branch off the ground which won them something like a 6+ figure grant and a major international education award.

EDIT:

Matenwa was mod/admin supported and organized too, but you're right that the body armor came first. There was also that whole Hurricane Katrina/PayPal debacle.

I don't know how much candidates are allowed to bring to the debates in terms of notes, but I honestly think Clinton's best strategy for the debates would be to show up with a list of quotes from Trump about various major issues, with one from each side (because he's been on both sides of pretty much every issue throughout the campaign). For every question, she should just let Trump talk, then fire back with, "Well, you say X, but on <date>, you said, and I quote, 'opposite of X.'" If he tries to weasel out and claim he never said that, she can just encourage the audience and everyone watching at home to look it up themselves on the source's website.

One of Trump's "strengths", if you can call it that, is that he occupies basically every position on every issue at once because nobody ever really challenges him when he contradicts himself. If Clinton actually forces him to take a stand on some position, it'll turn out that either he doesn't actually have a position, or his position is a horrible one. I don't know how Trump could make that look good.

I remember hearing a long time ago that the actual story was about a huge steampunk computer called the Zyborne Clock that controlled time. Also that Johnny Five Aces was just some rando side character in a bar. What it turned into was far and away better than what it was originally going to be.

Oh but shitposter Reason isn't the only one concern trolling Minnesota:

quote:

Trump is referring to the terrible scourge of unemployment in the Twin Cities, where, as of June, the unemployment rate was all of 3.7 percent, second lowest among American metropolitan areas. Statewide, the jobless rate is 3.8 percent, tied for the eighth-best in the country.

As for the "tremendous problems" for our safety net, let's compare Minnesota to Maine, where Trump was speaking. Maine, with 1.3 million people, has about one-fourth of Minnesota's population (roughly 5.4 million[...]) Maine finished its budget year with a $93 million surplus. Minnesota entered the 2016 legislative session with a $900 million surplus. Four times the population, ten times the leftover money. A tremendous problem.

A yoouge problem. Simply the greatest problem, believe me!
