I wonder how much higher the youth player maximum wage is now than it was when Sir Alex Fergietime refused to exceed it.

The guys that make the first team squad usually end up on about 20k as a starter now, compared to 10k which is what I believe Pogba was offered and turned down.

Actually they got somewhere between 300k to a million for him depending on who you believe, which really makes it a much better deal now.

I can't imagine Guardiola watching Stones in Everton's games last season and thinking "yes, this is a player we really should buy".

Stones is good and seems like a natural fit for a Guardiola team. Also I think City have bought a new centre back every year for literally the past decade.

I thought loving up under pressure because he doesn't like to/has been told not to blast it out for a throw was one of his bigger problems? At least I remember several instances of hosed up passes/lost possession while under pressure in his own box. If teams run at John Stones and he fucks up they're gonna keep running at John Stones however much Pep tries to explain to every other team that they shouldn't do it. Barca had to prove it wasn't worth trying to over-run them with pressure too before teams mostly stopped.

When Guardiola arrived he made a weird statement that basically said he was dead set on buying an English guy, and I guess Stones is that guy.

But Kompany, Mangala, Nasri, and Bony aren't.

Neither are Gündoğan and Zinchenko though. But ones injured and the other is 19.

City's squad is way too big, they need to sell like four players.

And John Stones is officially a Done Deal

Chelsea and Man City having 30 players out on loan looks pretty smart now that prices are crazy.

But I'm sure that the crash Wenger keeps waiting for will happen at day now.

West Ham seem to want nothing but wingers in their squad now. L'Equipe are reporting that we're lining up a £7 million bid for Rachid Ghezzal. Even with Ayew playing center forward, that brings the wingers/CAMs to Lanzini, Tore, Payet, Feghouli, Ghezzal and Antonio (not counting Valencia as he's poo poo and hopefully leaving).

Or maybe it's just Ghezzal's agent putting news out because he's in the last year of his contract and wants a good deal
