Even if they're fully qualified and I tell the honest truth about them, should they not vibe with other management, don't meet performance expectations, or perhaps just find something better and move on, all of that will directly reflect on me at my current job, and possibly my friendship with the person.

DoD jobs like that actually want and expect the whole truth, plus you warned your buddy. This is a guy loving up the friend on purpose for no reason. To give a good reference, he wouldn't even have to lie to the companies, he would just have to not deliberately sabotage the friend.

On websites where hookerfuckers share details of what things particular women do and don't do, what rates they charge, etc, they refer to their behavior as "the hobby" and call themselves hobbyists. I live in an area with an enormous human trafficking problem, both for sex work and regular old slave labor, and it's terrifying and depressing to confront. Much like hookerfucker's girlfriend, I'm all about sex positivity, but knowing what I know of human trafficking, I couldn't morally support someone loving a random prostitute. While it's certainly not everyone, the odds are pretty good that she's been coerced, kidnapped, etc.
