There might be a legality issue with Bungie posting this. The Olympic theme is copyrighted. I don't know if this falls under Parody laws, but the IOC is pretty drat ruthless with their intellectual property. Then again, they're just reposting so...

Ive read about this before expansion launches but what does it get you? Dont the engrams decrypt old gear? Are people really that interested i the newer legendaries? Wont your light level be restricted in some way so you wont get much of a LL boost beyond base value +6 or whatever? Explain yourself engram hoarders.

They started decrypting into new gear. Light level won't be great obviously but it's a chance to get new gear on day 1 which is something.
