I finally got around to playing Xenoblade X. Currently almost in Chapter 2 but I've been running around doing errands. I've heard the plot is generic trash so I've been holding off playing it. Thankfully this seems the kind of game where you can just forget the plot exists and just think you are here to subjugate the native lifeforms aka PSO. I wish the music was more... Ambient?

The white continent is seriously spooky and I think the visual design of the landscapes in XCX is one of its major major saving graces. You should do the plot missions because there's a lot of useful content gated behind it that will make getting around the world a whole loving lot easier. Don't do Hope's mission until you have a much faster mode of travel.

Was it the Virtual Hydlide comment that piqued your interest? They're not literally related but if you played the two games in a vacuum you could see how T&E could exist as a bottom-of-the-barrel Saturn game.
