nielsm posted:Your problem is with the capture method, not the output method. The encoder settings should have nothing to do with that. Try using simple screen capture instead of game capture, maybe that will work. Or maybe you can flip some switches for compatibility settings on the capture modes. I've been using a simple screen capture as nothing else will capture B&W. As far as compatibility, the only thing there is "Multi-adapter Compatibility" which I assume doesn't apply unless I'm using multiple video cards. The only thing I can think of is to switch the rendering method to OpenGL, and if that doesn't work, trying the 32-bit version of OBS Studio. I know, I should've clarified that I'm using Studio but

Upon testing with FRAPS, it doesn't seem to occur in raw AVI files. This leads me to believe that it MUST have something to do with the encoding. EDIT: Did a quick test stream to Hitbox, issue also present there. Scaly Haylie fucked around with this message at 21:23 on Aug 15, 2016 |

So I've been using Tindeck for all of my song links and I'm about to hit the cap for uploads. I'll be able to finish my LP without hitting it but I wanted to buy Tindeck premium so I didn't have to worry about the cap or dead audio links in the future. There's just one problem. Apparently Tindeck's paypal account is currently suspended and there's no way to currently purchase Premium. Has this been going on for a while now? If so, does anyone have any other audio hosting options that would fit the role Tindeck does? I could always make a second account if I had to but that's not a very elegant solution.

Although I can take stabs in the dark - is it running at an absurdly fast frame rate or something? Try turning on V-sync? As I recall FRAPS includes a setting that locks the frame rate of games it captures which might be why FRAPS works. Your best bet is probably either Youtube or self-hosting. Really hope Tindeck doesn't go under if only because it'd be a pain in the rear end replacing all my links just in my current LP, let alone the eight or so other lengthy RPG LPs where I have five-ten Tindeck links an update. e: I also just noticed the "For Sale" banner they've had on the front page for months is mysteriously gone. Guess someone might have actually bought them, but it's probably more likely they're dead pretty drat soon. Mega64 fucked around with this message at 00:25 on Aug 17, 2016 |

It turned out to be something along those lines. Worked through it with a friend, and in the end forcing FXAA in my video card settings did it. As a bonus, I discovered that Catalyst Control Center does texture filtering, so now Black & White doesn't look QUITE as much like baked rear end now.

Also they still use Flash to stream music which makes listening to music on iOS a bit more of a pain since you have to get to the download page instead. Also they haven't updated their blog or Twitter since 2013 and I'm pretty sure their traffic is 90% LPs and Homestuck at this point. I still like it though but it's not really too surprising it's gonna die.

I read through the OP, but I have a question. I'd like to stream a live video for one or two other people, while recording live commentary through Skype. What is the best setup to do this? I know it can be done because I've co-commented on someone else's video before with a method like this, but I don't know exactly how it was put together. Answers via PM are cool too so I don't spam up the thread.

You broadcast using Twitch, Hitbox, Beam, or a custom RTMP server using OBS. You also have OBS dump the output on disk. Skype screen sharing basically stopped working right after people realized it didn't suck. You then get all your commentators together, you broadcast to them, and everyone records their mic audio with audacity. And then you piece together the remains.

It should be part of their next major feature update but I have no timeframe on when that will be. The advantage to screen share over streaming to commentators is simply lower delay between what you're doing and what your commentators see. Skype screen share sort of still works but consider it's gotten worse with recent updates I imagine they're throttling it in an attempt to make it less convenient for people to stream shows to their friends.

I may have just found a Tindeck alternative. Clyp seems to fulfill my audio hosting requirements. You can also make the files private and enable or disable downloads on the track. The only downside I've noticed so far is the lack of BBcode embeds like Tindeck has but I can always whip up a custom preview image for each track. Anyone else have experience with Clyp?

You will need a program like Voicemeeter to combine your microphone and game audio into one channel which you then set as your Skype audio, and then screenshare, while recording your microphone solo with audacity or something.

I just checked out Soundcloud and while it's an option, you only get 180 minutes of free uploading. After that you have to pay $7/month to get 360 minutes or $15/month or $135/year to get unlimited upload. $15 lifetime Tindeck was feasible for me. Recurring charges, no thanks.

If you can wrap the audio in a WEBM file and upload that just about anywhere, SA can also embed those directly now. You can e.g. use Avisynth's Blankclip() function to generate a black video frame, or ImageSource() for a static picture, and then dub your audio file on top of that. Encode the "video" to a WEBM file using whatever tool. Upload to a regular web host. Paste link in post. You now have embedded audio.

Could someone with Adobe Premire help me with captioning? I am thinking that I may switch over to it for my voiced LPs, but I'm not sure if I can make it work for captioned LPs. Specifically, my captions aren't showing up. I have them enabled and set in the timeline like all the tutorials say, but they aren't automatically popping on screen like they should. Here's my workspace as it is now. E. Figured it out, the program was using one type of subtitle and trying to display another. Program won't work for this kind of thing, but oh well.
