The Democrat guy was also a pollster and he did a good basic rundown of how polling works (I can tell he's had to explain it at many many parties because he had a metaphor ready, using blood samples). I'm gonna put it in rotation with 1600 and be all Fair and Balanced.

I could only stand the first few minutes of the first episode of Chapo because of poor audio production. After somebody here suggested "give it another try" I did and find it mostly entertaining. I like that they're not constraining themselves to just politics because the latest episode about Suicide Squad was pretty loving funny. I've got 30-40 hours a week where I'm at my desk and want to avoid Judy in the cube next to me spout off on the latest Franklin Graham prayer vigil she attended, or whatever. So an hour or 2 of Chapo & Keeping it 1600 is a decent filler. If I'm not mistaken, the host of Radio Free GOP was on Keeping it 1600 last week.

I think lots of fast food jobs probably aren't worth it to their employer to pay a $15 minimum wage, but I think those jobs should still exist, and I don't have a problem with the government providing benefits so that wages + welfare = a living wage.

Which is a bullshit justification for several reasons. First of all, those companies really didn't want to hire teenagers, it was all they could get at such lovely rates until the implosion. Teenagers make horrible workers for various reasons, mainly due to the fact they have to go to school (which drastically reduces the amount of hours they're available for work) and the legal protections involving child labor. And there's the fact that, well, you're hiring a teenager (I'm sure all of us remember exactly how dumb we were when we were young). If those jobs were supposed to be for teenagers, you see a distinct lack of kids in them these days because adults working part or full time are just that much better workers. And adults that can be forced to do the work of 2-3 people for $7-8/hour are an absolute bonanza for the bottom line. Where else are they gonna work? The rival fast food joint across the street that would make them do the same poo poo but without any 10-25 cent raises they've managed to accumulate? One of my greatest wishes is the $15 minimum wage being made federal law, and having it tied to inflation, just so I can enjoy watching all these people who haven't worked a fast food/minimum wage job in the last couple decades, not to mention the companies themselves, choke on it.
